Even for a mouse that has been cloistered for the last 40 years but now has been released from his lifelong entertainment job, to make it on his own in a world of mouse traps, is horrifying.
Mickey finds the old world, where he spent so much fun time is gone but what replaced it makes the ''old days'' look like paradise lost!
He is terribly confused and confounded as to how he can continue to make people find him heartwarmingly entertaining and even funny. A mouse! scrreeeeeeeek!
What he fears most then, after careful analysis of his new existence, is he might trigger some more fragile individuals among us into some kind of mental paralysis when they see who he acutely is, not just a cartoon figure, but a rodent!

| Micky looks that the real world for the first time after being released from his contract to Disney and finds it terrifying. Where can he find his space in the new wave norm as being just a mouse. a rodent! Just the thought for many of a rodent running lose in their community will make them think they are in New York city! |
