Matt Kenseth Takes A 3rd Place At Atlanta : Skill and Patience Is Rewarded

Preview: Daytona 500, Sunday at 2 p.m. ET
Kenseth shows patience and skill coming from the back to take 3rd.

It's always a good day when Matt Kenneth wins a race or finishes in the top five or ten. But when he finishes 3rd after coming from the back all day, he started I think 16th and had two speeding penalties on pit road forcing him to the back, and still was able to eke out a 3rd place was the result of superior driving during a 500 miles race like Atlanta.

What is infuriating is the ''talking heads'' all day didn't mention him and his efforts to claw his way to the front in a steady and professional attack of patience and skill. After the last restart from a caution, Matt surged to third and only then did they say,' oh wow, here's Matt in 3rd, where did he come from?' dah!!

It's like he doesn't exist unless it is impossible to ignore him. Who are these clowns in the booth?
