It is very sad that the dynamic skier was so severely injured and I wish her a complete recovery.
At the same time her replacement on the team seems a bit out of his depth as his experience at this point in time has been limited to the politics of destruction and chaos, not athletic achievement. But those who's job it was to pick a replacement knew what they were doing when the pick Barack to replace Vonn.
Still, given his ability to stumble his way though life, falling among thieves and other unsavory individuals gave Barack the qualified experience he has used to manipulate others into doing things they normally wouldn't do. But then others picking him up, carrying him forward on their collective backs to become more then anyone could have imagined, the officials tasked to pick a replacement knew Barack will do his part for the team, bringing his particular talent into play destroying any and all competitors with his infallible ability to explain how the competition is not obeying the rules and so must be penalized or disqualified to compete.
The team official also knew that Barack knows how to get things done, as this is what has stood him so well in the past. Barack marshals forces to bring disruption and havoc to organization and institutions that apparently functioned well until he decided to become involved in their operation. So turning a skiing event into a nightmare of litigation and chaos is well within Barack's purview.
Little can stand in his way when the power to control outcomes is up for grabs.

During a harrowing ski accident in Schlamding, Austria.
Vonn was airlifted by helicopter to a hospital
in Schladming.
Concerned she wouldn’t be ready for the 2018 Winter Olympics, The U.S. Olympic Committee announced today her spot on the U.S. Olympic Team would be filled by Barack Obama.
