High standards are extremely important for freedom to exist. The founding fathers knew what was at stake for them when they decided to set the nation on a path that would last for the ages, declaring independence from the mother country, and then producing a document that would ensure individual freedom and liberty for future generations.
They knew what they did in 1789 was good, but they never envisioned an attack from fellow citizens who believe the Constitution that has make our country the best place in the world to live and prosper is now found to be not a good idea after all, and therefore must be rewritten to cover the demands of those who know what is needed in our new environment of all inclusion and equity.
Morals are of little importance when considering who will have the power for control.
