If their narrative that will advance the media's profile they will do what ever it takes to make it happen. And one of the best examples was the Russian hoax of Trump being under their control as an asset.
A Pulitzer was awarded to the news media for advancing that lie. Another good example was Barrrack getting a Nobel Peace Prize after being in office only a few months.
