The Human Propensity to Control Others by Force : A letter Home

Here is a letter to my brother concerning where our country is going and what we have become while the progressive socialist liberal democrats are in power. My brother sent me a note with a story from a Florida newspaper from 1983. (See the post in my this blog on the 'History of Force'.) that is so important to understanding the problems of underestimating the human condition for the acquisition for power over others.

There is much to be said for paying attention to history and the consequences for not doing so ; We are assured of making the same mistakes as in the past. Sadly that is exactly what we are doing.

Yo Brother - good one for sure - it just scary that there are so many among us that believe we are safe from aggression in this country. It is understandable so many would think this way as this is how it always has been. The critical thing is this generation that's living the good life now won't wake up in time to pass on this good life to the next generation.

I'm afraid too many among us do not see our current situation as a turning point in our history, that we are actually living history right now, but so many are blinded by an attitude of complacency thinking we are immune from destruction. What took Rome hundreds of years is happening to us in a matter of less then a decade.

No one could possible have believed so many calamities could occur in such a short period of time as what has happen since 2009, but they have on domestic issues and in foreign policy. No one could imagine that it could only take six years for our country to slide into an economic melt-down and utter chaos around the world just because one country decided they no longer wanted the responsibility of leadership. One country that decided individual freedom and Democracy was no longer necessary for the human condition to prosper. Many have refused to believe a political party in this country would actually take an active part in the decline of the country as it was founded just to gain undisputed power over others. Can't happen here.

The new thinking, the new norm, is "each according to ones abilities, each according to ones needs" will be the rule of the day. History is of no concern to the new leaders of this country, it's just the immediate needs of the few that are grabbing for power. But what is so much worse, many among our citizens, it appears, are ready to give up their citizenship in a free society for a promise of perpetual security from the state.

Sadly, the sleep walkers will find out their refusal to understand the circumstances of giving up freedom for security will come to late to save themselves and our country. God willing, the rest of us will not sit by and let it happen.

Take care brother -
