How does the saying go coined by Abraham Lincoln, ''You can fool some of the people all the time, you can fool all the people some of the time, but you can't fool all the people all the time''!
The function of government is to do the heavy lifting for leadership. The average person can't do it as they have lives to live. So, they elect others to do it for them. But as it is, the nature of man understands that having access to such wealth with little or no responsibility, there is a tendency to take advantage of the situation for personal gain.
The end result is total chaos and conflict between the national interest and a person's greed for money and power leaving the person who put them in this situation is left with no recourse except to take back the power they gave to others one way or another!
