Energy Resources Unleashed Brings Prosperity : Free Market Solutions

Energy efficiency is a good thing but to try and force it on everyone will not work - the answer is always the free market and prosperity. The idea of limiting the supply to drive up energy costs to the population to force them to conform to the agenda of scarcity is by taking more of the disposable income for transportation, is just snake oil sold by progressives to the uninformed public.

What this will do is force the middle and lower classes to spend more on energy and less on essentials. The well-off, those that have a good income, a job, will probably not feel the pinch as much as others. But again, it's not about efficiency or conservation, it about a few taking control of the many.

Everything that the progressive Democrats do is about getting and keeping power, and by having the power they have control. And having control means dictating outcomes for everyone. This is the agenda of the progressive and always has been.

As it was just reported yesterday, the United States has become the largest fossil fuel producer in the world. Little wonder the progressive socialists Democrats seek to stop development of this natural resource that would produce millions of new good paying jobs over the coming decade.

Just imagine the prosperity for so many people. Then understand how this will effect the agenda of the progressives that demand dependency of their voter base to keep them under control and voting for Democrats. A person that is prosperous is independent and free to make important decisions for their future, not having to rely on an elite few to dictate out comes for them.

Prosperity which brings with it freedom of thought will, in the end, destroy the progressive socialist Democrats agenda of control. But allowing the progressive socialist boot on the necks of the American people to continue will only bring suffering, dependence and poverty.

With Mr Obama and the progressive liberal Democrat party in control of our destiny, you must know the latter is assured. Time to chose our destiny.

Energy Efficiency Policy

The rising demand for more electronics, appliances, bigger vehicles and homes is creating more pressure on the available energy resources.  By improving energy efficiency, both the increased pressure on the energy supply industry and fossil fuel use will be reduced, says Catrina Rorke, director of energy policy for the American Action Forum.
Consider recent trends:
  • Gasoline consumption fell more than 10 percent over the last decade.
  • Electricity use has stabilized in recent years and has a downward trend in 15 states.
  • Connecticut alone has seen per-capita electricity demand drop by 8 percent since 2005.
While changes in consumer behavior in the face of higher fuel costs and in response to the recession are undoubtedly responsible for a portion of this trend, public and private initiatives to promote efficiency also played a significant role.
Private sector action:
  • The private sector can lower costs through energy efficiency improvements.
  • These improvements include: demand-side management techniques, leveraging smart metering technology, innovative financing, informational software.
  • Organizations can improve their energy efficiency in their internal processes to reduce operating costs.
  • Electric utilities can encourage consumers to use energy more efficiently to reduce pressure on the electric grid.
  • Increased interest from both corporate and individual markets in minimizing costs is encouraging new efficiency business ventures.
Government action:
  • Government interventions have a limited ability to improve energy efficiency that will improve economic efficiency.
  • Labeling programs that provide information on lifetime energy costs lower the burden on gathering or processing energy use information and leverage the presumption of consumer rationality to increase investments in energy.
  • Government subsidies promote the consumption of more efficient energy.
  • Command and control mandates restrict the availability of items that do not meet government standards. The benefits of these standards are much lower than the cost imposed on the market.
