The discussion is on going today, especially with the recent proclamation from the Supreme Court on race discrimination being unconstitutional in for elite college entrance rules.
Also, the debate rages on concerning just what a college degree costs and what is the benefit to the larger civil society when you finally have accomplished your four to six year endeavor. Many degrees are of little or no worth to making a living or giving back helpful substance to those in society that are hurting and or are less privileged.
