Interesting to see this bird on a regular basis out here in the country away from a body of water other than a large pond. This guy was across the road from us! There is a dead coon nearby so even though they don't like close attention from humans, he stood his ground until we left him alone. On occasion we see two of them feeding on roadkill. (We live more the 5 miles out in the country away from any city.)
What a delight to see these magnificent birds up close, in the air or on the ground and so close to home!
