I don't think there is anything anyone can add to this - the meaning is clear enough even for the most simple minded among us to understand, when someone says they will do something and pledge to you it will be done, let alone to God himself, you expect it will be done.
But when that person proves to be someone else then pledged, and does not honor his words to you or, more importantly to God, then you have to believe he never intended to keep his promise to you in the first place, and more importantly his pledge and promise to God.
What he really believes then it isn't necessary to keep promises or pledges to anyone for any reason unless it will prove to be beneficial to himself.
What this makes clear for all to see, this is all about self importance and a real motivation for using and abusing trust as a tool for gain.
Worse by far is that so many are willing to allow it to happen.
