I wonder why the good governor of New York state buys into the commercials that are running on TV now totting New York as a great place to start a business? Maybe he just wants to the country he if true to his words, 'if you want to keep most of your profits, you can keep most of your profits' period! I wonder as well what state that has a predominance of progressive socialist democrats in control of the reigns of power would be a good bet for a business to relocate and expect success? The land scape is littered with reasons not to make the move.
This gun manufacture decided to move out of New York despite the promises from the governor that in his state all is well, we welcome you with open arms. Remember what the crocodile said to the mouse that had to cross the pond? 'I'll give you a ride on my back and I promise not to eat you' I just want to help?' We know how that worked out.
Promises from the great governor and other progressive democrats of a business climate that would similar to a walk on a Waikiki beach if only you will come to our fair state for business success. All smiles, big hand shakes all around. The progressive socialist agenda : Gotcha said the spider to the fly.
But the reality is to succeed in New York state is not all what it is advertised to be, all one has to do is relinquish control of your business model to state laws and regulations and then be willing give up a lions share of your profits to the state as a 'good will' gesture to help other less fortunate then yourself, not that the state would ever demand corporations subject themselves to the whims of state legislators or the every compromising and compassionate progressive socialist liberal left governor. 'No! No! nothing like that. We just want what's best for everyone.'
Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) Doesn't Want Them
Remington, one of the world’s largest gun manufacturers, will on Monday join Gov. Robert Bentley (R) to announce they are bringing over 2,000 jobs to Alabama. Most of the jobs will be relocated from their Ilion, NY plant, and the initial investment in Alabama will be $87 million.
Founded in 1816 in upstate New York, the company is one of the nation’s oldest continuously operating manufacturers. Remington is the only U.S. manufacturer of both firearms and ammunition products and one of the largest domestic producers of shotguns and rifles.
Remington first began considering new locations after the New York legislature passed the Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement (SAFE) Act in response to the tragic shootings in Newtown, Conn. It broadened the definition of so-called “assault weapons” to include a wide range of guns, including the Bushmaster, which was being manufactured at Remington’s New York plant.
A month ago Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) said “extreme conservatives” who are “right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay,” have “no place in the state of New York.”
Gov. Bentley responded “In Alabama we strongly support and uphold our great U.S. Constitution on which our nation and our states were founded.
“The Constitution serves to protect individual freedoms. Among them are those guaranteed in the Second Amendment, which protects the right of the people to keep and bear Arms. We will protect the freedoms of individuals and welcome any one or any company to Alabama to discover as so many have, that we are a pro-business state filled with good, hardworking people.
“If Gov. Cuomo doesn’t want hard working pro-life and pro-2nd Amendment people in his state, we will gladly take them here in Alabama.”
