George Mason U. Left of Center

George Mason University is front and center these days as they have ascended to that most exalted place in basketball called the Final Four. Has anyone ever heard of GMU?

If you ask any body that watches the sport, they will all say these guys are a Cinderella outfit. How they got this far is some kind of miracle. This was not suppose to happen. How will they do in their next contest remains to be seen. In any event, George Mason University has arrived.

Not knowing anything about this university, I decided to find out just what the heck they are about, so I Goolged them. I decided that the perfect bench mark of any university was the level of hatred for George Bush. I wanted to find out if they were any different from all the rest.

As it is common practice for all university elites to hate Bush and everything that he has done for the past five years, I figured putting in George's name and rank along with the name George Mason would yield something of interest and I was not disappointed. The result showed they are among the Marxist millions that now inhabit most universities and colleges in this country.

The page that sprang up was the History News Network, and the article that was presented was an unscientific poll, or survey of history professors, asking the question how history would see George Bush. The results weren't much of a mystery. Actually it would be like asking a liberal Democrat if he thought power and greed were necessary to become a liberal? Well dah!!

The George Mason History Department sent out surveys to an unknown number of university history departments and 415 history professors responded. The survey called them historians, but we all know, wink wink, who they really are. They asked whether history would find good things or bad things to say about the 43 President. Guess what the results were. It's rocket science for sure.

Who would have ever thought so many history professors would find our President a complete failure. Out of the 415 respondents, 338 considered George and his administration a complete failure, 81%, and 77 thought he had succeeded, 19%. GMU's history department noted that several of the respondents, in the plus column, prefaced their decision by saying that Bush succeeded only in causing a disaster for the rest of us.

It's hard to believe GMU could find some many professionals so unhappy with the way the country is going. I mean with low unemployment, GDP higher than it has been in the last three years, the stock market still over 11,000, wage increases for blue collar and professionals at 3.5% and higher, capital expenditures by the largest corporations at a two year high, university students have a surplus of employers on campus. The future is looks great!

Now why would all of these people, of such elevated intellect, find so much wrong with how the country is being run? They are all getting good salaries and they don't have to take any responsibility for anything they do or say, and they certainly haven't done anything for society that would be considered community. So why so much bitterness? Why so much dislike for success? Could it be they hate success?

Maybe they hate capitalism. Democracy. Freedom of choice, religion and speech. Maybe it isn't so much that they hate these things in themselves, maybe they just think that people shouldn't have these rights and freedoms. They would be so much better off under a different system of government where everything is shared and where everyone is no better than anyone else, except for the professors that is.

I guess George Mason is just one more of many universities that has a liberal agenda, they have to hate everything that they are not and can never be.

Border Debate Starting

Immigration is on the minds of just about everyone these days so I may as well put my two cents in as well. I believe some kind of border control is long over due. What we have had in the past, and continues today, is the catch and release program where when an someone enters the country without the proper documents, is caught and then taken back to the border and released. There are cases that are more complicated than that, but for the most part, that is the most common scenario. What a waste of time and money

I believe there is good solid way to handle this problem. The first thing that has to be done is close the boarder. If we can't control who is coming into the country, we will never be able to know for sure that those that are here, are here legally. And with the war on terror, we have to know who is here and why.

The only way to make sure that we know who is crossing into this country from Mexico is to build a wall or fence to stop the flow of people. Another suggestion was to install electronic devices that will alert the border patrol to possible illegal entry.

I believe this is a must before we can begin to find out who is here legally or illegally. Then we can make provision to export them or establish a program for them to gain citizenship.

It appears that there is a proposal pending for the illegal works to pay a $1000 fine, get registered, obtain a green card, pay another $1000 fine and then work here for six years before they are eligible for citizenship. I can see a lot of problems with this. Another proposal is to increase the number of guards substantially, and make employers responsible for hiring only legal workers.

What the final outcome will be is anyone's guess. What is important is that we are finally have the debate. This is a very serious problem. A problem that is directly connected to the war on terror. A problem that puts our national security at risk.

Back Again from the Heartland

Hey - Hey, I'm back from the Big Country - North Dakota. I know when anyone thinks about that 'no-where' state, they always think of emptiness, and you know what, they are right!!

But to tell the truth, as I have said before, it has it's own charm. Roads that are as straight as an arrow and go for miles without seen a house or a tree or anything. When you do see a house it's usually a trailer set back off the road surrounded by old cars and beat-up farm machinery. There are nice houses and big farms as well, but for the most part, in this part of God's Country, it's seems like the hard luck family predominates. You have to want to live here. One doesn't move here by accident. This is what makes these people so beautiful.

The land in this part of North Dakota is so flat, when you look out across the immense fields that seem to have on end, it presents a certain uniqueness that you won't find almost anywhere else. To live here, one has to have a strong constitution. You have to know who you are and have a definite love for the land.

It is said by those wiser than I, if you live in the country, you get your power from the land, and if you live in the city, you get your power from people. I'm not sure if that is an absolute, but It works for me. I like these people.

This is my forth trip to see my dad that is residing in a home for the soon-to-depart residents. He is 98, suffers memory loss and a departure from reality. I told my brother who went with me he would fit right in with a bunch of liberals that I know. He thought that was extreme in that most liberals never have had a gripe of any kind on reality.

For the most part, he is doing well, given his age. We had a great time watching old James Bond movies and NCAA hockey games to pass the time. The only problem was we got to loud during the hockey game and one of the next door residents shouted at us to shut-up so she could go to sleep.

This was about 9:45 pm on Monday. My dad thought she probably shouldn't go to sleep at all at her age as it might be her last snooze. He said don't worry about it as she was just an old prune. We shut the door completely anyway, even though it was too late to do any good. My bother and I said we weren't worried because we've been thrown out of better places than this before. My dad liked that.

As we left we apologized to the nurses, that were on duty, for being so routey that late. They were laughing so hard they had tears in their eyes. They indicated that that hasn't happened in recent memory. They though it was great. The residents will be al-a-buzz for awhile. I'm sure we'll be table-talk for some time to come.

I guess not much has changed for the family. When we were much younger, we were always getting our folks in hot water with the police or the neighbors. We were always driving our cars like crazy or making to much noise. heh

We had a great time in North Dakota, and I know my dad really enjoyed the visit. He hated to see us go. It's been almost six months since our last visit and I don't know when I will make the 600 mile trip again.

It isn't fair, some how, that he should be that old and not see his family more often. I don't have any answer. Maybe I will have any answer when I get that old, but there might not be anyone around to ask this question about me !? -

Rummy Dumps on Media

This is a great exchange between a reporter and Don Rumsfeld - you have to love this - heh

Blog of the Week Gateway Pundit has video of Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's press conference yesterday. It includes this exchange with a reporter:

Reporter: Do you feel embattled at this point in your tenure? In a recent column, Maureen Dowd quoted an unidentified administration official who described you as an "eccentric old uncle who's ignored." She claims that you don't hold the same sway in meetings.

Rumsfeld: Did you get all that? You want to be on camera, right? That’s a sure way to get on the evening news. The answer to your question is no.

Reporter: Well, I'm asking about the facts reported in the column. Do you feel you hold the same sway in meetings?

Rumsfeld: I'm not going to comment on that.
(Pause)- Rumsfeld looks away for a moment, then...

Rumsfeld: If you believe everything you read in Maureen Dowd, you better get a life.

North Dakota Bound

Well I'm off again to see my dad in North Dakota - I leave this afternoon for Minnesota to connect with my brother, and then head north and west.

Have a great weekend - I will be back on Tuesday, God willing - -

Bush Stays the Course

It is said that experience is a harsh teacher because the test comes first and the lesson afterward - we have been tested since 9/11.

It is hard for some people to stay on-task on any given project even when our very survival depends on it. Others will find every excuse under the sun to do something else or quit the task completely due to boredom or they just find the task at hand has become irrelevant. The job over time becomes a burden to self interested projects. The mind loose focus, and the heart, desire. Still others see no responsibility to participate at all. The liberal denys the task at hand but quickly manufactures a new reality that conforms to a preconceived agenda.

One has to wonder how this could happen two days after 9/11. The media starting running stories about how America brought this mess on our selves because of our superpower status and world dominance in trade and finance. Those that hate this country saw it as just deserts and a golden opportunity to join the attackers to bring America to her knees.

Since President Bush started his counter attack on his critics on Monday at his press conference, the liberal media has gone into over-drive to counter his view of how the war is going and the NSA wire intercepts.

When he called on Helen Thomas for questions, everyone thought he must be crazy because she is a nut case liberal of the first order, but her question to the president was just what the doctor ordered. As we all know now, it was incredible. She displayed for the whole world how insane she really is and, by association, all the liberal media sitting with her. The questions on censure and impeachment were just more of the same liberal nonsense.

Who are you going to trust to protect this country? People like Russ Feingold that wants to, for political reasons alone, stop the president from fighting the terrorists with the NSA wire intercepts, or someone that can stay the course and get the job done.

Bush has proven that he can and has done this.

Liberals Can't Lead

Dwight D. Eisenhower said " I never saw a pessimistic general win a battle". Just as we will never see a pessimistic President defend this country. Just look at the track records of Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton as opposed to Reagan and the Bush dynamic duo, a father and son tag-team.

Carter was, and still is, in love with socialism and tyrants. Just show him any communist or liberal socialist like Castro and Chevaz , Jimmy will be on their door step just waiting to plant his big kiss of approval. He saw nothing wrong with the Russian communists and ripped Reagan for calling them an 'evil empire'.

Hugo Chevaz is in power today because Jimmy Carter lied about the voter registration problem that took place while he was watching the reelection process some years ago. He put his stamp of approval on it knowing it was a fraud, but he just thinks he knows whats better for the people of Venezuela and who should run that country.

He just can't help him self, he loves communists. Remember his smooth handling of the Iranian hostage crisis? They were held for more than 400 days. He is gutless, but then what liberal isn't. Maybe it's worse than just being gutless in Jimmy's case. Maybe it's much worse.

What a great entry though to describe Bubba's eight years of fun house romper room presidency. Gutless is a perfect summation of Bill's accomplishments. How many times were we attacked and Bill did nothing. How many people died around the world from terrorist attacks and Bill did nothing. Bill had more important domestic tasks to attend to. The Clinton's had so many scandals that an entire industry sprang up to just keep track of them.

Trusting our national security to a liberal would be like cutting our own throats. They are moral and physical cowards. They have a history to prove it to.

Get Up - Take Action - Now!!

A must read - this is a speech that was delivered at the intelligence Summit that was held in Washington D.C. last February the 18th, 2006 -

This woman is demanding that we get our collective heads out of our hindends and take action before it is too late.

We gather here today to share information and knowledge. Intelligence is not merely cold hard data about numerical strength or armament or disposition of military forces. The most important element of intelligence has to be understanding the mindset and intention of the enemy. The West has been wallowing in a state of ignorance and denial for thirty years as Muslim extremist perpetrated evil against innocent victims in the name of Allah.
I was ten years old when my home exploded around me, burying me under the rubble and leaving me to drink my blood to survive, as the perpetrators shouted Allah Akbar! My only crime was that I was a Christian living in a

Christian town. At 10 years old, I learned the meaning of the word "infidel."
I had a crash course in survival. Not in the Girl Scouts, but in a bomb shelter where I lived for seven years in pitch darkness, freezing cold, drinking stale water and eating grass to live. At the age of 13 I dressed in my burial clothes going to bed at night, waiting to be slaughtered. By the age of 20, I had buried most of my friends--killed by Muslims. We were not Americans living in New York, or Britons in London. We were Arab Christians living in Lebanon.

As a victim of Islamic terror, I was amazed when I saw Americans waking up on September 12, 2001, and asking themselves "Why do they hate us?" The psychoanalyst experts were coming up with all sort of excuses as to what did we do to offend the Muslim World. But if America and the West were paying attention to the Middle East they would not have had to ask the question. Simply put, they hate us because we are defined in their eyes by one simple word: "infidels."

Under the banner of Islam "la, ilaha illa allah, muhammad rasoulu allah," (None is god except Allah; Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah) they murdered Jewish children in Israel, massacred Christians in Lebanon, killed Copts in Egypt, Assyrians in Syria, Hindus in India, and expelled almost 900,000 Jews from Muslim lands. We Middle Eastern infidels paid the price then. Now infidels worldwide are paying the price for indifference and shortsightedness.

Tolerating evil is a crime. Appeasing murderers doesn't buy protection. It earns one disrespect and loathing in the enemy's eyes. Yet apathy is the weapon by which the West is committing suicide. Political correctness forms the shackles around our ankles, by which Islamists are leading us to our demise.
America and the West are doomed to failure in this war unless they stand up and identify the real enemy: Islam.

You hear about Wahabbi and Salafi Islam as the only extreme form of Islam. All the other Muslims, supposedly, are wonderful moderates. Closer to the truth are the pictures of the irrational eruption of violence in reaction to the cartoons of Mohammed printed by a Danish newspaper. From burning embassies, to calls to butcher those who mock Islam, to warnings that the West be prepared for another holocaust, those pictures have given us a glimpse into the real face of the enemy. News pictures and video of these events represent a canvas of hate decorated by different nationalities who share one common ideology of hate, bigotry and intolerance derived from one source: authentic Islam. An Islam that is awakening from centuries of slumber to re-ignite its wrath against the infidel and dominate the world. An Islam which has declared "Intifada" on the West.

America and the West can no longer afford to lay in their lazy state of overweight ignorance. The consequences of this mental disease are starting to attack the body, and if they don't take the necessary steps now to control it, death will be knocking soon. If you want to understand the nature of the enemy we face, visualize a tapestry of snakes. They slither and they hiss, and they would eat each other alive, but they will unite in a hideous mass to achieve their common goal of imposing Islam on the world.

This is the ugly face of the enemy we are fighting. We are fighting a powerful ideology that is capable of altering basic human instincts. An ideology that can turn a mother into a launching pad of death. A perfect example is a recently elected Hamas official in the Palestinian Territories who raves in heavenly joy about sending her three sons to death and offering the ones who are still alive for the cause. It is an ideology that is capable of offering highly educated individuals such as doctors and lawyers far more joy in attaining death than any respect and stature, life in society is ever capable of giving them.

The United States has been a prime target for radical Islamic hatred and terror. Every Friday, mosques in the Middle East ring with shrill prayers and monotonous chants calling death, destruction and damnation down on America and its people. The radical Islamists deeds have been as vile as their words. Since the Iran hostage crisis, more than three thousand Americans have died in a terror campaign almost unprecedented in its calculated cruelty along with thousands of other citizens worldwide. Even the Nazis did not turn their own children into human bombs, and then rejoice at their deaths as well the deaths of their victims. This intentional, indiscriminate and wholesale murder of innocent American citizens is justified and glorified in the name of Islam.

America cannot effectively defend itself in this war unless and until the American people understand the nature of the enemy that we face. Even after 9/11 there are those who say that we must engage our terrorist enemies, that we must address their grievances. Their grievance is our freedom of religion. Their grievance is our freedom of speech. Their grievance is our democratic process where the rule of law comes from the voices of many not that of just one prophet. It is the respect we instill in our children towards all religions. It is the equality we grant each other as human beings sharing a planet and striving to make the world a better place for all humanity. Their grievance is the kindness and respect a man shows a woman, the justice we practice as equals under the law, and the mercy we grant our enemy. Their grievance cannot be answered by an apology for who or what we are.

Our mediocre attitude of not confronting Islamic forces of bigotry and hatred wherever they raised their ugly head in the last 30 years, has empowered and strengthened our enemy to launch a full scale attack on the very freedoms we cherish in their effort to impose their values and way of life on our civilization.

If we don't wake up and challenge our Muslim community to take action against the terrorists within it, if we don't believe in ourselves as Americans and in the standards we should hold every patriotic American to, we are going to pay a price for our delusion. For the sake of our children and our country, we must wake up and take action. In the face of a torrent of hateful invective and terrorist murder, Americas learning curve since the Iran hostage crisis is so shallow that it is almost flat. The longer we lay supine, the more difficult it will be to stand erect.

Press Conference Smack-Down

What a fantastic press conference today. President Bush really did the office of the President proud. Even the liberal media, in some quarters, thought he was at his best today, perhaps even to the point of bettering his performance just after the twin towers fell on 9/11.

I listened to the President's opening statement and then a few questions from the White House press corp. What a pathetic bunch of losers. The questions for the most part weren't questions at all but statements of opinion delivered with all the grace of a pit bull.

In truth, I was appalled but the lack of curtsey and manners that these people displayed. I can't refer to them as journalist as they didn't display any of the characteristics of journalism. They gave the President of the United States less courtesy and respect than they would have given some drunk off the street. Their manners and lack of professionalism are despicable!

Their behavior this morning was a show case for venting of hate and rage for a man that has displayed, for all the world to see, leadership and compassion for the human condition. Yet he is attacked for possessing such qualities.

I wonder if they know what a sorry lot they truly are? Do they understand that a very bright light is shining on them?

Through it all, George Bush made those hateful people look like the empty suits they are. George was smooth and to the point on every topic. He was aggressively positive about every policy and program associated with the war and the NSA intercepts.

The High light of the press conference was when someone asked him what he thought about Russ Feingold's censure proposal on the wire taps and that their was talk about impeachment.

His answer was classic - he said those that believe this is a bad program, they should go to the American people and tell them that if they elect him or her to be President in 2008, they will stop the intercepts of terrorists phone calls into this country. This is called 'pu-up or shut-up'.

Now how cool is that for a come back. I wonder what Russ has to say about that!

Peace Movement not for Peace

Here is some good reading - this illustrates just how far the 'peace movement' has gone to try and destroy our way of life in the name of 'peace' - how stupid are we, really, to buy into any of this?

New Book - Weapons of Choice

I just started a new book called Weapons of Choice by John Birmingham. It is a science fiction that is set in the year 2021 and concerns a navel combat battle group that is about to do bad things to some bad people, when one of the ships in the fleet, a research vessel, has a super fast atomic accelerator on it, or something like that, and is about to test it.

Of course I just knew something bad would happen when they fired this time up, and I was right, it ripped the fabric of time and transported the entire fleet back to 1942. It so happens that there was a US navel fleet on duty at the same spot, at that same time.

The problems that ensued are incredible as both fleets had no idea what was going on, especially the old guys from 1942 when they saw this huge number of weird looking ships suddenly appear. They of course thought these ship were part of the Japanese war machine that some how snuck-up on them, and attacked them as best as they could. The new guys didn't know if they were afoot or horse back.

This is as far as I have gotten, but I have to say I have some very strong objections to one part of this story, even though it is fiction, the implication makes my blood run cold.

The problem that I have is the name of the new super aircraft carrier that got blown back in time, her name is the USS Hillary Clinton. My shock was so great when I read that name I contemplated not going any further in the book. It was as though the book had some kind of disease. I never realized that name would cause me such physical discomfort when associated with something that I consider to be sacred.

When you contemplate the fact that Hillary hates everything that has to do with the military or America or humanity in any form, for that matter, it's no wonder that I reeled in horror when I read that part of the book. The thought that she would have done something for America that would have been noble enough to have an aircraft carrier named after her is beyond comprehension. Even in a factious story, it is ludicrous. If they named war ship after such person as Hillary, it would only be fitting to name the next one in honor of Carl Marx. The only saving grace is the ship is about to be torpedoed.

I never thought I would be glad to see one of our finest war ship go to the bottom of the sea.

No Civil War for the Media

I made the mistake of looking at the headlines in one of our local newspapers yesterday and right away saw that it was a mistake to look. It had huge bold letters that absolutely screamed " IS IT CIVIL WAR NOW?" This was an assumed consequence after the Golden Mosque was blow up and the media has had a field day with this incident. Also, conservative news outlets have proven the liberal left elites to be wrong from the beginning, that's why they have to ask if it is a civil war or a political misunderstanding - heh -

A civil was will not happen in Iraq. The press will hope it will come, but It won't happened. The terrorist, like the left media, knew it was a good time to stir things up. The terrorists started killing large numbers of people on any ethnic side in this country because they knew the American press could use it help foster a real conflict. This is exactly what the press is trying to do with these misleading headlines.

My advise is to not read and newspapers or watch any major television news channels without first having a good idea what you believe is important in your life. The old adage "don't believe anything you read and only 10 percent of what you see" will stand you in good stead in today's world of power politics.

The River War by Wiston Churchill

I just finished the book The River War by Winston Churchill. What a defining book. Churchill was 23 when he wrote this account of how Briton and Egypt reentered the Sudan after the battle at Khartoum in 1885, that killed the British General Gordon and saw the rise of one of Islam's Sudanese leaders, Mahdi, as well as the ultimate destruction of the Dervish Empire.

The young Churchill was a member of the 21st Lancers that took part in the attack on Omdurman that was the decisive battle for the Sudan. Churchill recounts the background to the war, the history of Sudan and it's peoples, as well as stories of the battles and hardship of the fighting soldiers.

Churchill would later receive a Nobel Price for literature for his efforts.

Given the on-going war that we face today in Iraq and Afghanistan, this book defines some of the operational history of Islam from a centuries ago, and even some background ideological reasoning for Islam's recent world wide attack on Western culture. A good read for sure.

Decisions Without Information

It's interesting to note how one views a situation before any facts are known about it. It's like the DP port management mess, everyone knew what the answer was to this situation, but very few knew what the question was.

My left eye went on a rampage last Friday. It felt swollen and I had all kinds of debris floating around in it that wasn't there before, and I had light flashes at the outer edges, even in the dark. To say I was concerned is putting it mildly.

I called for an appointment as soon as I could Monday morning when it didn't seem to be getting any better. In fact it seemed to be getting worst as my vision started to blur from millions of small black dots that were floated around in front of the eye.

The optometrist said it sounded like a detached retina and it would be advisable to get in for a check right away. he thought Wednesday would be soon enough -

In my mind, I knew this required immediate attention but he said it will be fine to come in on Wednesday. All I could say was okay, but I had that sinking feeling all was not well and I would probably go blind by the end of the day.

I didn't sleep very well all week end and Monday night was worse. All I could think about on Tuesday was I going to loose the sight in my left eye. I sat down and tried to imagine how I would have to change the way I live and the activities that I would have to give up due to not having any depth perception, or very little.

One of the worst things was I would have to give up bike racing for sure. It's bad enough with two eyes trying to adjust my position among sixty other riders at 25 mph. With one eye, it would almost be impossible, if not catastrophic.

I thought driving a car would very difficult in heavy traffic. I tried this while driving to the doctors office today, and it was no fun. But I thought I will have to adjust to what ever the outcome is.

Well, after the exam the doctor said it's no big deal. Everything looked fine. It's all routine stuff, not to worry. He scheduled an appointment for a retina specialist for Thursday morning to have it burned back together with a laser. It's out patient surgery. The eye should be just fine after recovery which would take several days. The spots might take longer as the eye has to reabsorb them. The spots are cells that erupted in the eye when the retina ripped loose.

So, all that worry for nothing. I didn't have enough information to make good decisions but yet I came to some conclusions that keep me from sleep and caused personality changes that weren't mature. I was jerk. It was a stressful four days.

The port deal was much the same. Most people took upon themselves to demand results about a situations that was totally out of their realm of influence or comprehension. Congress was no better but yet they saw it as an opportunity to get some camera time and make the President look bad.

In hind sight, Congress really didn't know what was going but the President did. What's new about this picture. He said "Trust me on this", the UAE are experts all over the world. The media elites and the liberal Democrats just laughed. The left coast elites saw this as another chance to bring America to it's knees.

We all know the final out come, Congress looked like a pack of fools, but what's worse, the Congress is no smarter now than they were before, and they are not likely to be, as now they are back to bashing the President on the NSA intercepts and the war on terror.

When ignorance is bliss, it's folly to be wise.

Left Liberals Defined

Did you ever wonder why the left is always angry? This quote come close to defining the basic philosophy of the liberals in this country:

"The difference between prejudice and conviction is that you can explain a conviction without getting angry".

Public Schools - Mind Bending Ed

Public education is becoming a joke - all one has to do is watch what the NEA, national Education Association, and WEA , Wisconsin Education Association, have to say about any objection to new schools or more money for teachers - no sacrifice to great for our children. They truly believe there can't be a good reason not to support their view of public education.

This article is a good insight on the philosophy of control that started in the 60's as protests of any authority other than one's own. It isn't difficult to spot the flaw in their agenda.

Iraqi and American Civil Wars

Iraq is on the road to Democracy - it won't be easy but the consequences for not making the effort to succeed are huge.

This article shows how important it was for us, in 1786, to keep calm, dig in our heels and fight the good fight for what we knew was the only course to take and that was the defense of the nation.

This article is good and timely for the parallel events are very close -

Spring Time In March - Nice

What a great day!!! Warm sun and 50 degrees. The last time it was this warn for February 14th. For sure it was a little coo,l but with the sun rising higher every day it felt like the last week of April today. So what was the best thing to do on a false spring day, get out the bike and it the road for a quick twenty miler.

It was fun to just got out and cruise along the back roads at a fun pace instead of having to sit on the damn wind-trainer watching the tapes of the Tour de France, again. That has been my January through March task of past years, but now I really don't think I want to get that involved anymore.

I guess it's 'stop and smell the roses' for a change of pace and life style. The bike can be a fun thing instead of an instrument of pain and suffering. Racing should not be a way of life.

George Bush in History

Here is a great article on the merits of George Bush's Administration and what future historians will have to say about it -

UAE Pulls the Plug on Port Lease

The port deal is finished. The United Arab Emirates organization pulled the plug today. They decided that it was not in their best interests to pursue this any further, and rightly so.

The Democrats and Republicans made fools out of themselves fighting one-another over who would get to take credit for defeating the UAE bid to purchase, lease, the rights for control of the container traffic at 6 of our ports of entry.

The question wasn't about control of the port security, that has always been under our control, or so it seems. The Democrats wanted to make sure they were the ones to be first in line, demanding that this deal not go through as it was a matter of national security. They wanted to show how security consciences they are. What a laugh! Everyone knows that's a lot of bull, and any amount of arm waving and ranting won't change that.

What this deal was about for the UAE was business. They manage ports all over the world. From what I can see, they are good at what they do. It would have been in our best interests to have them working with us over here, not fighting us over there.

For the United States, this is all about politics. There is an elections coming up so the Republicans saw the hand writing on the wall as polls supposedly showed 80% of Americans were against this. Their politicians, after all, so it's all about them and their reelection, screw the country.

The general public was reacting falsely to a perceived idea that the UAE was just another middle eastern terrorist nation. In reality, it is not, and has a history of siding with us on many issues involving the war on terror. Now, I don't know what the future relation will be between the Emirates and the United States. What a slap in the face for them.

The future for the Democrats is going to be more difficult as their high profile on identifying the UAE as an enemy will not sit well with the puppet masters agenda. The liberal agenda has always stated we do not have an enemy, the war on terror was all about oil, and George Bush lied.

Now that they have identified an enemy of America, their stand on the war will have to take a different tack. What will they say now about our middle eastern brothers and sisters?

Also they have profiled a certain type of person, as well as an entire nation, as being untrustworthy. The middle eastern individual will now have a much harder time entering the country or getting on an airplane without being searched, right? The Democrats will insist on new and tighter security against this new enemy of the state. Right? Hmmmmm

It sure looks bad for former President Clinton to as he was trying to broker a deal to get the UAE leases on the side. And what's this about Madeline Albright, former secretary of state, going along for the ride and some extra cash?

Clinton, while in the middle east, gave speeches at 300,000 dollars a pop. If there is a buck to be turned, this hound dog will get the biggest bite out of the pie, and this is why he saw an opportunity to make some real money by brokering the Dubi port lease. He's not licensed to do this, but what's wrong with bending the law a little, he did it for 8 years when he was president, so why not a little more now?

At the same time, when he was in the United States, he said the port deal was a bad thing and a risk to national security. Bubba can turn on a dime and give you nine cents change. But hey - relax, he's a Democrat, so it okay. We expect them to be criminals and we are never disappointed.

Report on United Nations Accomplishments

I see the U.N. is back in the news with a report on how the member nations have supported the United States on issues that were important to us.

The report examined 12 key issues and found that only four nations supported the U.S. most of the time; Israel, Palau, Micronesia and the Marshall Islands.

One of the key issues that these blood suckers wanted us to vote yes on but we said no to, was to lift the embargo on Cuba, the workers paradise, according to the liberal left and the neo-communists around the world. One of the other issues was forcing Israel to vacate the Palestinian territories.

Isn't it humorous that the biggest recipients of our aid vote against us all the time. These are just a few of the many that found it necessary to side with history rather than bank on the future.

Turkey gets over a billion dollars a year and they voted against us every time.
Ethiopia gets 594 million and they voted against us every time.
Colombia gets 524 million. Voting for us: 0
Egypt 460 million: 0
Jordan pockets 224 million but forgets who we are: 0
Peru sucks down 229 million and gives back the rigid digit: 0

Our friends, and I use that term very loosely, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and South Korea sided with the United States only 8 percent of the time.

The report also itemized some of the United Nations past accomplishments:

*The UN voted to remove it forces from Rwanda in the early days of the tribal conflict, and as a result, 900,000 Tutsis were slaughtered in 1994.

*The Iraqi people were screwed out of almost 2 billion dollars in the U.N.' food for oil' deal that saw Kofi's son Kojo reap hundreds of thousands dollars and nation's like France, Russia and China rake in hundreds of millions while tens of thousands of Iraqis were murdered.

*This one is just the best, the Sudan got elected to the Human Rights Commission while they turned a blind eye to the genocidal killing of nearly a hundred thousand Christian blacks by Islamic Sudanese terrorists in the region of Darfur.

*How about the UN peace keepers in the Congo that used food and money to force sex from the local girls and some as young as 12.

The United Nations is the world headquarters for terrorism and mass murder. It's single function is to coordinate and initiate attacks on anyone that might want the UN to actually function as a peace keeping organization. A majority of it's members represent the very worst that the world has to offer. Many of these member nation's think nothing of butchering their people as well as others for a few bucks and stash of good-time drugs.

How is it possible that the United States provides 22% of the entire budget of this ' murder for hire' organization and we are virtually the only ones that believes in equality and human rights.

Liberal Media Bias on American Corporation

Sometimes I think I become too involved in what is going on in the world of information. Maybe I am beginning to see things that aren't there. There are things in the media, think liberals here, that I don't need proof of as they stand out for everyone to see that have a once of perception, especially politics, but what about media bias when it come to American corporations.

Does the media hate American corporations like they hate the American military? How about the media hate for Christians? Jews? Capitalism? Cars? Whoa!

What prompted this was a report that I saw last night on my local TV news cast concerning the latest crash tests on automobiles by the Insurance Institute for Highway safety. (IIHS) The report was the "Top safety Picks for 2006".

Also the morning edition of the local paper had headlines on the financial page showing how an American manufacture had the lowest rated car in the midsized moderately priced cars. The crash test that dropped this vehicle into the pits was the rating for side impacts.

I have been around and worked on cars all my life. I have repaired car engines from the bottom up, done body work and electrical repairs as well as spray painting of completely reworked cars. I think that I have a feel for automobiles and how they should perform under most circumstances.

What I don't understand is how one manufacture in this country has the honor of being the most celebrated for failure. I see it car magazines as well. If there is one manufacture that is going to be criticize above all others, it will be FORD.

If Ford has a recall, you can bet it will make news. The papers and TV will have automotive reports on how death is just around the corner for you if you have one of these bad cars. And it seems that no matter how trivial the problem is, the media makes it out to life threatening.

I refuse to believe that Ford is the only one that has problems. I remember General Motors had a recall that made the papers. Other than this, I can not remember when I have heard of another car manufacture having a recall, other than Ford.

Is it possible that Honda and Toyota have never had a recall where they have had to send out letters to millions of owners to bring in their cars for rework? What about Chrysler? Oh, sorry, they are owned by the Germans now so they have automatically come off the media hit list.

Funny thing, I just got a letter to bring in my Chrysler minivan to have the rear heat vents reworked and before that the front suspension. I don't remember seeing that in the papers, but Ford had to bring in thousands of police cars as their dash boards were collapsing under the weight of all that equipment that they have stacked on it. That made national news including a class action law suit form police departments.

The car magazines joined in on this one as well. Their comment was that Ford just doesn't give the public what they want, quality and reliability. Really? I believe it's just their critical opinion of anything American.

Given all this history, I wondered why the Institute decided to high-light this one particular division of cars, the midsized moderately priced. hmmmm Maybe it wasn't the Highway safety people at all, maybe it was an enterprising journalist that saw an opportunity to take it to an American manufacture, Ford, and their newest car, the Fusion. What a great opportunity to kick Ford as their financial picture at this time is not good.

The main thrust of the news was the safety for side impacts. Here again, the media decided to edit the list just a little - according to IIHS, the top pick was the Saab 9-3 , gold rating, and the Subaru Legacy also got a gold rating.

But what cars did the media decide to talk about, the Lexus and BMW 3 Series. They both rated sliver and 5th and 7th, respectively. Also, these top rated car all had side air bags as options or came as standard equipment. They never mentioned the four top picks in this category. I don't get it?

True, the Fusion didn't perform well, no side air bags this year, but there were many others that were just as bad but weren't mentioned at all, just Ford made into the headlines.

Something else that the media failed to mention is in the large car division as Top Picks for 2006, the two gold rated cars were Ford products, the Five Hundred and the Mercury Montego. There was only one other rated car in this entire class and this was the Audi A6, rated silver.

Am I out of bounds here? Am I getting a little paranoid? It just seems that Ford gets a lot of unfair air time while the other more favored, more politically correct manufactures get a pass.

Al Frankin and The Oscars

I didn't watch the Oscars last night mainly because I don't care that much about the Hollywood liberals that seem to dominate the 'kook' left ideology. Best picture, 'Crash'; never heard of it! I did find out that it grossed 35 million - -!? - I know, so what, that's chicken feed.

Anyway, I don't have much time tonight as I'm going to watch "24" at 7 p.m. A two hour episode of 24 is just a plain nerve racking experience. The show is great, but the real nerve racking comes in when you have to wade through all of the damn commercials.

Oh, and how about this, Al Frankin is losing his New York station at the end of this month. Air America is going into the tank. I feel so bad for the liberals that they just don't have anything to say that anyone wants to hear. heh

The Democrats lose Their Party

Upon reflection, the story from Minnesota, concerning the Democratic Party and the Progress for America ads that have been running for the last several weeks on radio that relates good news about Iraq, is perhaps the most remarkable story to have ever taken place.

It's a story about the most pure form of hypocrisy to ever descend upon a public that lives in a world dominated by a group of professionals that make a living out of perpetuating falsehoods and deceit.

Professional politicians that grasp at the smallest tid-bit of information and turn it into revelations of misconduct and treachery, twisting the information to meet their agenda, or if that doesn't work, they use bold faces lies.

The national media and the politicians are partners in this crime against America and the Constitution itself.

When the Progress for America starting running the ads that related stories of successes in Iraq and first person testimonials from wives and mothers of men that were killed in combat, the Minnesota Democratic Party flew into a rage. They demanded that these ads be removed from the air because they were untrue. They went so far as to try legally to have them removed.

The first amendment of the constitution that guarantees free speech doesn't apply unless you say what is thought to be the truth by those that are far smarter they anyone else. They demand that you do what you are told.

Confronted by someone that has an idea, and has the audacity to actually follow through on it, sends liberals into uncontrollable rage. The Democrats in Minnesota are the best example, but one can find them just about anywhere else for that matter.

Just take a minute now and digest this. The Democrats ranting about someone not telling the truth. You can't make this stuff up! I have to sit down when I think about this because the concept is so difficult that my small brain starts spinning, trying to resolve the contradiction. I don't think it's possible.

That a political party would take a stand, in national media outlet, The Minneapolis Star Tribune, demanding that freedom of speech wasn't for everyone, needs to step back and reevaluate it's core values. I believe if the Democratic Party would actually do that, they would find the cupboard bare.

They would find that the Democratic Party is no longer the party that represented the blue collar workers of America, that it ever did is up for grabs, but it is now the far left liberal party based on eastern socialism which dictates all workers of the world must be equal, no one can have more than someone else. Corporations must be reduced to tools of the state. Capitalism will be a thing of the past as it is unfair and wasteful. The constitution of the United States of America will be dissolved as unworkable.

If anyone needs proof of this transformation they only need to listen to the Democrats in the United State Senate, or the major newspapers and television networks.

If the liberals are successful in transforming the Democratic party, and succeed in gaining a majority in the government, the results will catastrophic for all of us.

There will be some exceptions to these hard and fast rules once they gain power, of course, like the party members that have to make sure we all obey the laws of the land. Someone has to live in the big houses and drive the best cars and wear the finest cloths. Someone has to decide who you will be. Someone has to decide who lives and who dies.

Superior intelligence deserves rewards.

After all, they are the ones that figured out how to steal all of your money and individual rights, why shouldn't they have all of the power. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Think that sound a little harsh? Maybe. Maybe not. It will be up to all of us to watch and listen to what goes on in our government, and then decide what is the truth and what is spin in the media.

As the saying goes, "For tyranny and treachery to succeed, all it takes is for good people to do nothing".

Okay Enough Winter Already

Posted by Picasa I guess it's that time of year when I start having those visions of what went before -

Although the winter this year has been okay, as far as winters go, I still get that certain longing for the warm weather, sipping coffee on the porch at 6 a.m. while the sun is just starting to come up over the trees across the pond, and the breeze out of southwest is cool and oh, so refreshing. I just love it!

Well, I guess it's just one of those things that will happen no matter what, and any and all whining that I do won't make it happen any faster - sigh -

Liberals Still Spinning Katrina

As predicted, the media and the intellectually challenged Democrats smell blood on the water of this katrina tape thing with President Bush discussing the levees before, and after the storm.

When you view the tapes there's nothing there to cause such a rush to cut someone's throat. It's just another chance for the liberals to try and discredit or destroy the President.

The tape that shows Gov. Blanco of Louisiana assuring President Bush that she believes the levees are okay, when in fact they weren't, hasn't made the evening news. 'Let's not look at all of the tapes, we just want to highlight the parts that we can spin to our advantage'. Go figure!

Do these tapes reveal anything new that hasn't been discussed before? No. Do we know that the federal government needs to reorganize FEMA to be able to handle catastrophe disaster? Yes.

I still find it interesting that when the congressional hearings were held on what happened along the coast and what all levels of government have to do to come up to speed, the governors of Alabama, Mississippi, Florida and Texas all said they had no problem with FEMA. Where is Louisiana in this report? Sorry, don't you know, it's not there fault. they're Democrats - we can't expect them to take care of themselves.

According to the rules that the governors stated in the hearing, the individual states are responsible for their own recovery for the first 72 hours. Governor Bush said he has never had a problem with FEMA, and who else would know how FEMA works better than the governor of a state that has more natural disasters than other state?

Louisiana, of course, was a complete disaster - the problem was, and is, 60 years of the Democrats running the show. Billions that were spent on the area to improve the levees was some how misplaced. Well dah! Blanco and Nagin have no clue why their state government, at all levels, is totally incompetent. Talk about a cult of corruption! Hey, chill-out - cut them some slack - they're Democrats.

Ray Nagin, in typical form, is pulling out all the stops now to shift the blame for his total incompetence in not implementing the emergency disaster evacuation plan that would have saved hundreds of lives, to the failure of the federal government. He feels he can hide behind the liberal press that, up to now, has given him and Blanco a pass on the disaster. Liberals cover for each other. It's part of the criminal code of honor.

Remember the pirate philosophy and see if there is any similarities to Louisiana and the liberal Democrats. I think it's a perfect fit.

The Media Twists and Turns

The liberal never say die - this latest flap about the levees is just one more attempt by the puppet masters to make the Democrats look stupid while trying to crush the elected government of this country.

What actually is going on? The left of center media has a tape of a meeting that took place a few days before Katrina hit New Orleans. In the tape, someone asked the president what he thought would happen when the water "over-topped" the levees. He answered something to the effect that is was a grave situation and that FEMA would do be there to assist the local officials.

As we all know, FEMA was not prepared to handle the consequence's of such a catastrophe as a category 4 hurricane, and one that would eventually breach the levees and destroy almost the whole city.

The media is just spinning this video tape to make trouble for George Bush. First, the tape wasn't leaked like they said, the Bush administration gave it to the media back in August of last year and secondly, the media is in full flight on the smallest one word part of the tape. The reporter asked about the "over-topping" of the levees and when asked about the levees when they broke four days after the strom, Bush said he didn't know that they wouldn't hold.

Here comes the line that the press can't hold back on, it's their favorite, "Bush lied". The key here is, of course, is that he was asked about the water 'over-flowing' into the city, nobody asked about a breach. Big difference. But the media decided to change that little part for dramatic effect when they went public yesterday. The antique media thought the stupid public wouldn't pick up on this little change.

They had the tape all this time but decided back then it was of no use. It was a straight forward news conference. Someone must have been reviewing tapes looking for something they could use and saw an opportunity to twist the truth a little and hammer the government with the lie.

What a bunch of losers.

See how the pirates attack the big vessels hoping to inflect enough damage to come along side and board her in the smoke. This time, as in the past, they aren't strong enough, but that could change. The ship of state has to always be well armed, and make sure her powder is dry or we will all be chained to the oars.

Pirates and Liberal Democrats

I really liked that book, The Pirate Hunter, that I tried to compress for you yesterday. I truly hope I did it justice and tantalized someone enough to go out and pick it up at the library.

like I said yesterday, I have asked so many people who they thought Captain Kidd was and they all knew. He's a pirate. A pirate? Sure, they're the guys that go out and steal, destroy and plunder other people's stuff and then run and hide. Then I say, Whoa - you have it all wrong, what you're describing is a liberal Democrat, not Captain Kidd.

Think about it - how do the Democrats compare to the pirates of the 18th century? The old time pirates were a plague to the commerce of the day. They would lie in wait along the shipping lanes and then run down the slower trader vessel, board her, take what ever they thought they could sell or consume, savage the women and then leave to parts unknown.

The similarities between the modern day liberal Democrat and the pirates of old is uncanny. The new Democratic pirate is always just waiting to attack the big successful vessel carrying all of the goods that make the system run. They try to take the best of what's on the ship of states' agenda, savage the parts that don't help them to get back into power and wealth, and then run and hide behind the skirts of the news media that will lie about what actually happened.

The media does this because they get some of the booty as a kick back. It's called 'influence on the quarter deck'. Now when another opportunity arises to attack another prosperous vessel, the liberal Democrat can steal and savage to their hearts content and the average Joe and Jane will be none the wiser until it's too late.

It isn't difficult to see what will happen after a lot of the ships of state are savaged by the cut-throat liberal Democrat pirates, the source of the ships will go broke because they could never reach their destination, and the buyer and consumer at the end of the line, never gets enough product to sustain them.

The result is both the supplier and consumer parish. Now is the time that the liberal Democrat pirate will attack the home base and pick there bones clean. The pirate or the liberal doesn't care about production of goods or taking responsibility for the security of the town and it's people, they are only concerned with taking anything of value that is produced by the hard work of others

They have no plan for the future. The pirate philosophy is to take and destroy. Their life is centered on the accumulation of wealth and power. Once they have enough money and power, they will attack the biggest ship they can find and use it to plunder the entire world of it's best resources. Everyone will be at the beckon call of the pirates. As in the old days, the pirates will force the conquered populations to work for nothing so the pirates can live like kings.

The problems started when the ship of state started to sink from neglect and abuse. The work force that drove the oars to move the ship started to age and die off, while the source of more workers in distant lands diminished, as they armed themselves to defend their population from the pirate scourge. The result was a total collapse.

The liberal pirates quickly gathered up what booty they could and fled from those that wanted justice, disguising themselves as common people so as to hide from retribution. With their booty, they still lived the good life.

Now all they have to do is wait until they see another new big fat productive vessel being built and sail for distant lands. As before, they will hide and wait so they can begin their destructive cycle all over again.
