The conventional wisdom is this is a trap, but the cooler heads say Trump understands Mueller is set to destroy him but Trump isn't concerned.

I think he had better be very concerned as there are powerful forces arrayed against this administration. They want him destroyed.

And as the investigation ramps up against Hillary and the deep state actors in the FBI and the DOJ, the pressure to allow Mueller to proceed until he destroys himself seems the right strategy.
