Polar Bears Attack America : Environmentalism Insanity

This article is just one more sign that the environmental fascists and there pupits, the New Socialist Progressives, liberal Democrats, in congress are will to put our country at risk to inflict their personal agenda on all of us. The polar bear is endangered - rubbish - Environmentalism gone crazy.

There is no hard evidence anywhere that states the polar bear is endangered - to the contrary, the polar bear numbers are on the rise in most areas according to surveys taken last year.

I have a few questions I would like answered that have bugged me for years.

Why do we accept talking points as fact from such a small minority of individuals? Why do members of congress give these people such power by accepting flaued information? Why do we as citizens accept the decisions of representatives on this matter when we know better? Why do so many people not care what happens in their lives before it too late?

Why are they will to risk everything thinking it's someone else's problem and that they don't have to make a decision on something they don't understand or care about until it has a direct impact on their lives, and even then they use the standard solution to ease they conscience, blame someone else. Whoa - the blame game won't work this time - the ball is in your court. The blame will be on you and I.

At what price in our personal lives will we decide to drop the scales from our eyes and ears on this matter of energy development? The decision is coming faster then one might think - I fear we may have already past the time given how long it takes to develop and build conventional energy systems let alone new technologies.

Take a minute and think what makes sense - do we watch our economy collapse before our eyes or do we take steps to secure our future by becoming energy independent with the development of existing sourses of fossil fuels and nuclear power while demanding the expansion of new sources of energy that will carry us into the twenty second century without collateral damage like ethanol?

You must make the decision now - not later - In November, vote for those willing to balance the need to preserve the environment with the demands of a dynamic economy. It can be done. It must be a priority. Our future depends on common sense.

So now you can keep the faith knowing the battle is joined!

Overpaying at the pump ( The Heritage Foundation )

Energy prices are on the rise. The service station down the street from The Heritage Foundation charges $3.71 per gallon of regular gasoline—and some places in the country charge even more.

Heritage expert Ernest Istook places the blame for rising energy prices squarely on our elected leaders, who have declared our nation’s plentiful natural energy resources off limits and suppressed development of new refineries or nuclear power plants.

And what of alternative energy sources like ethanol? Istook reminds us that alternative energy “remains far in the future, and much of it will be more expensive than $4-per-gallon gasoline”
Now, to compound the problem or rising energy costs, the government is considering a proposal put forward by radical environmentalists to add the polar bear to the endangered species list.

If enacted, this policy would pose a serious threat to America’s economy, as Heritage Foundation energy expert Ben Lieberman explains. And perversely, it could actually end up harming the bears it looks to protect.

Heritage President Ed Feulner sent a letter to Secretary of the Interior Dirk Kempthorne on Thursday pointing out the origins and consequences of the polar bear plan.

“Adding the polar bear to the list of threatened species is nothing more than a back door way of ensuring the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is never opened to energy production, regardless of how slight the impact to the environment will be,” he wrote.

“We must prevent alarmist environmentalists from finding yet another way to limit our national energy consumption and production,” Feulner continued. “Today’s high energy prices will continue to rise unabated if we further limit domestic production and usage of our natural resources.”
