All that's necessary is to sit and wait for the next flight out to a warm homecoming. That flight back is not on their agenda but still flying home is better then how the got here!
And for that matter, the long wait for the itinerary to fill the aircraft will seem a short wait. They know when having options are over.
Having it over sooner rather than later a good thing. Better to fly home now rather than staying and ending up in a bag in a junk yard!
