Don't know who wrote this but it's on the mark in any case to explain, we all have a duty to our people to honor them that decide, of their own free will to defend our country against all enemies both foreign and domestic. They have at great cost and they are now still defending our great country that cost them in many cases their last full measure.

Memorial Day originated after the Civil War to recognize the Union and Confederate soldiers who died. It is for those who gave their lives for our nation.
Veteran's Day honors all living Veterans but I didn’t want to wait until then to send this.
Get the hankies out .They told me the big black Lab's name was Reggie, as I looked at him lying in his pen. The shelter was clean, no-kill, and the people really friendly.
His real name is "Tank." Because, that is what I drive. I told the shelter that they couldn't make "Reggie" available for adoption until they received word from my company commander. You see, my parents are gone, I have no siblings, no one I could've left Tank with ... and it was my only real request of the Army upon my deployment to Iraq, that they make one phone call to the shelter ...in the "event" ... to tell them that Tank could be put up for adoption.
Luckily, my CO is a dog-guy, too, and he knew where my platoon was headed. He said he'd do it personally. And if you're reading this, then he made good on his word. Tank has been my family for the last six years, almost as long as the Army has been my family. And now I hope and pray that you make him part of your family, too, and that he will adjust and come to love you the same way he loved me.
If I have to give up Tank to keep those terrible people from coming to the US I am glad to have done so. He is my example of service and of love. I hope I honored him by my service to my country and comrades.
All right, that's enough. I deploy this evening and have to drop this letter off at the shelter. Maybe I'll peek in on him and see if he finally got that third tennis ball in his mouth. Good luck with Tank. Give him a good home, and give him an extra kiss goodnight - every night - from me.

I folded the letter and slipped it back in the envelope. Sure, I had heard of Paul Mallory, everyone in town knew him, even new people like me. Local kid, killed in Iraq a few months ago and posthumously earning the Silver Star when he gave his life to save three buddies.
Flags had been at half-mast all summer.
I leaned forward in my chair and rested my elbows on my knees, staring at the dog. "Hey, Tank," I said quietly. The dog's head whipped up, his ears cocked and his eyes bright.
"C'mere boy."
He was instantly on his feet, his nails clicking on the hardwood floor. He sat in front of me, his head tilted, searching for the name he hadn't heard in months. "Tank," I whispered. His tail swished.
I kept whispering his name, over and over, and each time, his ears lowered, his eyes softened, and his posture relaxed as a wave of contentment just seemed to flood him. I stroked his ears, rubbed his shoulders, buried my face into his scruff and hugged him.
"It's me now, Tank, just you and me. Your old pal gave you to me." Tank reached up and licked my cheek.
"So whatdasay we play some ball?" His ears perked again.
"Yeah? Ball? You likes that? Ball?"
Tank tore from my hands and disappeared into the next room. And when he came back, he had three tennis balls in his mouth.
Just think about it for a split second, and then say it out loud, ''I would rather have criminals controlling our streets and schools then the police.'' That has to make you feel good and secure!! Right?
Ask the next question, why would anyone of sound mind believe eliminating the police be a good idea?

It's amazing how The Fauci can have such insight on how to make sure we all stay safe for the next three years or longer depending who win in 2024. ( There is some rumors going arund that Maybe The Fauci is going soft on more lock downs the wearing of at least two or three masks and goggles in the fall.
He also thought the distancing will have to be increased to 10 feet in doors and 100 feet outside. It all depends on what the result of the new studies that are on going on the new stains coming from Europe. The Fauci says million could be infected including children as young as two years old. He hopes it won't be necessary for the government to come in take the children housing them in separate facilities to keep them safe.
(Rest assured it will not be too close the the millions of illegal immigrants now being housed in 9 states around the country, mostly red states that can afford to cover the costs!! Most of the blue states are broke and in default!)

Children of Congress members do not have to pay back their college student loans.
Staffers of Congress family members are also exempt from having to pay back student loans.
Members of Congress can retire at full pay after only one term.
Members of Congress have exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed, under which ordinary citizens must live. (For example, they are exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment. And as the latest example, they have exempted themselves from Healthcare Reform, in all of its aspects?)
We must not tolerate an elite class of such people, elected as public servants and then putting themselves above the law. I truly don't care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent, or whatever. The self-serving must stop. Governors of 35 states have filed suit against the Federal Government for imposing unlawful burdens upon their states.
It only takes 38 of the 50 states to convene a Constitutional Convention. Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution:
"Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the
Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the Citizens of the United States."
She was not happy when reporters asked her if she has put on some weight? Her reply was as expected. It was someone else's fault she has an outward appearance change. She has since not been seen!
