Liberty and Freedom : Thomas Paine's Legacy Lost?

Interesting assessment of America, where we came from and where we are today. Sadly so much of this is lost in the general population as common sense is being replaced by sound bites and electronic messaging.

And now that liberty and freedom are taken for granted by so many among us who cannot or will not make the connection to how we got to where we are today, and those that have given their last full measure to assure that liberty for all of us in America, and for many around the world, it is now the new norm to demonize those that came before with claims of greed, intolerance and bigotry.

This is being taught in our schools as early as the first grade.

Have we fallen so far and given up so little to understand just what a gift we have been given?

As the subtitle to my blog, "Density's Choice - America Is" points out, 'Freedom means having nothing else to lose', are embarking on a course of destruction when it seems we have collectively decided we don't need liberty and individual freedom any longer to grow and prosper, promised perpetual security by government is all we need?
