I don't know who wrote this but I know it to be true. We are so privileged to have a military that we don't have to fear, and one that actually believes they are just one of us, while the majority of us only reaps the benefits from their sacrifice.
Take a minute this weekend to understand just how marvelous it is to live in this country, and how so many of our citizens have given 'full measure' that we can enjoy ourselves in the freest country in the world.
It is the
VETERAN,
not the preacher,
who has given us freedom of religion.
It is
the VETERAN,
not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press. It is the VETERAN,
not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.
It is
the VETERAN,
not the campus organizer,
who has given us freedom to assemble.
It is
the VETERAN, not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is
the VETERAN,
not the politician,
Who has given us the right to vote.
