Election Thoughts : Why / Who Voted Progressive

Just a short note for those of us still trying to digest what took place last Tuesday, how our fellow citizens seem to have voted from a position of ignorance on the issues that face our country and it's future. Are we better off now then four years ago?
As hard as I try I can't come to grips with the fact so many people decided that the last four years of the Obama administration of complete failure apparently didn't exist, and that four more years of the same nonexistence will improve our collective well being. More of nothing is not the way forward even if your are living in a bubble based on hope and change.

Last Tuesday we saw, in Wisconsin, voters elect two people that have long histories showing them to be more liberal then anyone in our collective memories to run for high office, and yet, by a good margin, won the presidency and a senate seat over center right candidates.

The histories these two candidates show they have voted for ever issues that has been proposed that will take our freedom and liberty away through more government control and regulation, ObamaCare the worst one, and proclaimed during their campaigns they want to go even further in this direction if elected, got a standing ovation for their efforts. What exactly does this say about the voting public?

It will take a few weeks, if not months to fully digest these complex issues and then get to work finding ways to change the course of events in 2014 when a large number of  senators will be up for reelection, many of them are progressive Democrats. Taking back the senate will be a good first step for us to reclaim our country.

The news stories that are coming to light now regarding the deaths of our ambassador in Libya and now with the CIA chief and his girl friends as well as the economic disaster coming, will begin to shift the tide in favor of common sense which should help to wake up the public conscience to who they elected. That is, if the Republicans have the back bone to stand up for what they know is right, principled Conservatism, but I sincerely have my doubts concerning their commitment given their past record.
