If you have listened to Rush Limbaugh's narrative of what went won with the Pilgrims when they landed somewhere in Connecticut, circa 1620, and what happened their first winter where half of them died from starvation and exposure to the winter cold climate which let much to dissatisfaction with their journey to Religious freedom in the new world.
Sure, the Indians tried to help that first winter but it wasn't until the next year when their leader, William Bradford decided that the socialist living situation that was tried where everything that was produced was shared among all those in the community, but it failed as some did nothing to add to dividends.
Those remaining were very unhappy!
Bradford then decided to allot a piece of land to each family and they could keep everything they raised for themselves ands if they had produce left over they could sell or bargain for other items from the members.
Of course it worked like a charm and to celebrate, they through a wing-ding for everyone including the Indianans that were of great assistance on teaching them how to plant and harvest along with animal care!
What was learned here is that the socialist ideology is a failure while the capitalist system works. Every time socialism has been used for the advancement of humanity as history can attest, it result in death and destruction!
