Who will benefit from something as stupid as this? A minimum wage increase will only cause disaster for the workers. It will be the unions benefit but the gain will only be temporary. When the fast food industry comes under pressure to finds ways to survive, it will innovate by getting rid of it's human workers and replace them with machines.
I wonder who will be the losers? The taxpayers as more and more workers end up unemployed.

Thousands of fast-food workers across 150 cities nationwide gathered today to call for a $15-an-hour minimum wage.
However, a report released today by James Sherk, senior policy analyst in labor economics at The Heritage Foundation, found that fast-food restaurants would have to boost their prices 38 percent to make up for the increased labor costs.
Higher Fast-Food Wages: Higher Fast-Food Prices
Such an increase, Sherk said, would drive away about one-third of these restaurants’ customers.
