Worse of course, it's not about punishing the rich, it's about taking what the rich have for themselves. History is riff with examples!
The active political criminals know they can't do anything on their own to gain wealth, so they figure out a way to steal it form others in the larger society where millions of people are available to steal from instead of just a few rich ones!
And it's not about just taking immense wealth from those that have it, but they are happy to take what the ordinary people have worked hard for all their lives and steal them blind.
