The Ant and Grasshopper : Old And New Version

There is a moral to the first story but there can't be one in the second as the second story depicts progressive liberal socialism. Socialist are moralless. The state feels no pain. The state cannot be held responsible. The state can never be wrong. The state is never wrong.

The Ant and the Grasshopper story has Two Versions: The old story of hard work and rewards and bad consequences for being lazy.

The new version depicts the history of progressive socialism from around the world where hard work or being lazy is rewarded equally. Each suffers together in failure, pestilence and poverty. It's called fairness.

(Don't know the author of this tail but I've modified the story some to bring it up to modern day life in America.)

The ANT AND THE GRASSHOPPER

OLD VERSION

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.

Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed. The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.

MORAL OF THE OLD STORY:  Be responsible for yourself! Work hard and prosper.

MODERN VERSION (Life in the age of progressive socialism is a promise for change and ''transformation''). Everyone is a winner.

Now here we go : The ant works hard in the withering heat and the rain all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks the ant  is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.

Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls the ant and demands a place at his table but the ant says he only has enough for himself and his family. The grasshopper is outraged and calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be  allowed to be warm and well fed while he is cold and starving..

CBS, NBC, PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food.

America is stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper  is allowed to suffer so?

Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper and everybody cries when they sing, 'It's Not Easy Being Green ...'

Occupy the Anthill stages a demonstration in front of the ant's house where the news stations film the
Black Ant Lives Matter group singing, We shall overcome.

Then Reverend Al Sharpton has the group kneel down to pray for the grasshopper while he condemns the ants. He later appears on MSNBC to complain that rich people do not care.

Former President Obama condemns the ant and blames Donald Trump, President Bush 43, President Bush 41, President Reagan, Christopher Columbus, Fox News, the Pope and climate change for the grasshopper's plight.

Nancy Pelosi & Chuck Schumer exclaim in an interview on The View that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper and his kind that are just trying to get by the best they can,
and both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant and his kind to make them pay their fair share.

Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity & Anti-Grasshopper Act retroactive to the beginning of the summer just to make it fair. Socialist are all about fairness.

The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and therefore having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the Government Green Czar
and given to the grasshopper. That's fair.

The story ends as we see the grasshopper and his free-loading friends finishing up the last bits of the ant's food while the government house he is in, which, as you recall, just happens to be the ant's old house, crumbles around them because the grasshopper doesn't maintain it. Remember, The grasshopper's life's schedule doesn't include work.

Of course, the ant has disappeared in the snow, never to be seen again.

In the spring the grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident, and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of enterprising spiders who terrorize the ramshackle, once prosperous and peaceful, neighborhood. The workers are all gone looking for common sense and logical solutions.

But the ending is always the same for liberal left socialist jihads, the entire Nation collapses bringing the rest of the free world with it.

If there is a moral, which is doubtful here, only a fact of reality given recent history, it's this

Be careful how you vote in 2018. Believe if you vote for democrats in November and then as time passes you find you have to run for your life, believe again you have to know you can't run fast enough or far enough where they won't find you and administer socialist justice.
