Republicans On Immigration : Amnesty For Everyone

Self serving and destructive.

Bur wait, this author actually is asking Republicans to work together to send a good bill to the presidents desk to sign that will end the illegal immigration problem? What? Who the hell is he taking about?

That is, build a wall on our southern boarder, end chain migration, eliminate the lottery system of immigration and mandate employers hire only legal immigrants among others. Republicans look at this and say that's way too difficult, let's just grant the illegals what ever they and want what ever the democrats will support.

But never fear, if something get screwed up and destroyed that started out to be constructive, it's a sure thing the Republicans will do their best to do the bidding of the opposition, the progressive socialist liberal democrats that favor open boarders, all immigrants that can make their way to our country to have rights and privileges like natural born citizens upon arrival.

Oh, and then they can all vote democrat. By the way for those of us paying the bills, never vote democrat as our country is at risk of civil disorder. democrats are not concerned about disorder, that something they leave to Republicans to fix and maintain. democrats are about chaos and conflict, that's where the profit is.

Pro-Amnesty Republicans Would Undermine Border Security and US Law
David Inserra / /

With some Republicans pushing for a vote on amnesty for those brought illegally to the U.S. as children, Congress should remember why such policies hurt, rather than help.

In addition to giving short shrift to other needed immigration reforms and being unfair to both Americans and legal immigrants, the current immigration efforts will likely only encourage more illegal immigration. In fact, it’s happened before.

In 1986, the U.S. provided amnesty to almost 3 million illegal immigrants while promising to stop future illegal immigration. While the bill was being considered, some senators raised concerns about the message that such an amnesty would send.

Sen. Jesse Helms, R-N.C., argued that “[a]mnesty for the millions of illegal aliens currently in these United States would establish a dangerous precedent which could well encourage additional illegal immigration.” Sen. Phil Gramm, R-Texas, stated that “there may be those in other countries who will say that since we granted amnesty once, maybe we will do it again.”

While those promises to stop future illegal immigration came to nothing, the amnesty took effect immediately. It sent exactly the message that Helms and Gramm feared—that the U.S. was willing to reward those who came here illegally by granting them U.S. citizenship. Congress would later pass several smaller amnesties in the 1990s, setting a firm precedent that Congress would indeed keep rewarding illegal immigration.

Since then, the number of illegal immigrants in the U.S. has grown to around 12 million. During that time, Congress has considered but rejected additional amnesties. The current proposal being pushed by some Republicans would legalize as many as 1.8 million illegal immigrants. But doing so would only double down on the failed amnesty model that was tried in 1986 and the 1990s.

President Barack Obama tried to get Congress to pass more amnesties. Frustrated at its resistance, he unilaterally created a pseudo-amnesty through the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. DACA unlawfully gives illegal immigrants benefits and protection from deportation, despite U.S. laws to the contrary.

Using the same legal logic as DACA, Obama tried a further executive amnesty with the Deferred Action for Parents of Americans, but that was defeated in the courts.

Combined with lax enforcement and loopholes in U.S. immigration laws, as well as high levels of violence in Central America, the DACA program encouraged more illegal immigrants to come to the U.S. illegally—especially children and families with children. By rewarding illegal immigration, amnesty and lax enforcement send a powerful message to other potential illegal immigrants to come to the U.S. unlawfully.

Members of Congress who hail amnesty as a solution to our immigration woes should keep in mind the lessons of past amnesties: They do not stop future illegal immigration. They only incentivize more of it.

The Trump administration is trying its best to restore our broken immigration system by faithfully enforcing the law. Yet Congress is now actively working to weaken the immigration system with more amnesties.

Congress should instead work with the administration to improve the U.S.’ enforcement and border security tools and close loopholes. That would send a clear message to the world that illegal immigration to the U.S. is not an option.

President Trump Begins Gov. Union Reform : No More Free Lunch

The president doing what he said he would do.

Well if you weren't angry before, you will be now after you read this short story of how taxpayers have been funding government unions to support progressive socialist liberal democrat politicians.

Trump begins the effort to kill of the funding of government union. Much more needs to be done though.

Then to, the story that seems to be one of the basic narrative used by the progressive liberal media is that  GOP of your dad is now on the way out. The GOP is finished. For Trump to attack unions is a sure nail in the coffin of the GOP.

Hopefully, in this case, the progressive socialist democrats are correct as the old GOP deserve to be history as it is no longer a party, but like the democrats has become just a ''collective'' of like thinking spineless sycophants doing the bidding of the progressives democrats.

But what has changed is the ''new and improved'' GOP, established by Donald Trump is taking the lead to 'Make America great Again'' by bringing sanity back as he rule of the day. Actually doing the will of the people that elected to do the job of saving the country is inspiring to those of us in the trenches of everyday life. We voted for this ands now Donald Trump is delivering.

As well, is it curious or not that not one democrat is joining the charge to help save the country? Never vote for another democrat, ever. They mean to do us harm.

Trump Puts an End to Taxpayer Subsidies for Unions
Richard Manning / /

Government employee unions have enjoyed an absolute boondoggle in recent years, receiving hundreds of millions in taxpayer funds. But the boon could soon be over thanks to a new executive order from President Donald Trump.

Last Friday, the president signed an executive order requiring that federal government employees who work full-time for the public employee unions at taxpayer expense spend at least 75 percent of their paid time on the government’s business. The administration estimates this will save taxpayers $100 million.

This measure is one of three executive orders the president signed on Friday. Those orders do not eliminate taxpayer subsidies for public employee unions altogether—that is Congress’ job—but they do end the taxpayer subsidy of travel for union business; mandate that unions be charged fair market value for rents of government office space; streamline the public employee appeals process so that bad apples can be fired more rapidly; and force taxpayer-funded union workers to spend at least three-quarters of their time doing the people’s business.

Most people are shocked to learn that taxpayers have been footing the bill for public employee union salaries, but they become incensed when they learn that in 2016, union employees were paid $177 million by the federal government, not counting office space and travel expenses.

A 2013 Freedom of Information Act request by Americans for Limited Government discovered that the Department of Veterans Affairs alone had over 250 employees working full time for unions in 2011. The Transportation Department had 35 employees on full-time “official time,” many of whom had salaries in excess of $170,000 per year.

And in 2012, when the IRS was busy playing politics by delaying and denying tea party group applications for nonprofit status, The Washington Times reported that more than 200 full-time IRS employees were engaged in nothing but union activity. The same report added that taxpayers picked up the bill for another $687,400 in union travel at the IRS alone.

It’s bad enough that the federal government spent between $150 and $200 million a year on union salaries and travel, but what’s worse is that this indirectly subsidized unions’ political activity. Because money is fungible, the money that public employee unions didn’t have to spend on personnel could then be turned around and spent on politics.

Public employee unions are among the biggest donors in politics, with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees ranked the 15th-largest contributor so far in 2018, according to OpenSecrets. And this group, in particular, has overwhelmingly favored Democrats over Republicans.

Of the $4,843,291 that this group has poured into politics this year, exactly $6,000 of it went to groups, causes, or politicians considered to be Republican or conservative. In 2016, it spent almost $16 million on politics with under $8,000 going to Republican or conservative groups. In that same election cycle, its political action committee could not find a single Republican to support, giving 100 percent of its money to Democrats.

This is just one case out of many. For years, taxpayers have subsidized public unions that pursue political activities and overwhelmingly donate to Democrats. Their donations are designed to grow government, and consequently, their own membership.

Public employee unions don’t even pretend to be anything but big government advocates. The president’s executive order forcing taxpayer-funded union employees to spend 75 percent of their time doing their federal job is a good first step in reigning in this far-left government funding stream.

Trump deserves kudos for recognizing the absurdity of taxpayer funding of the left, and in particular, he deserves credit for hiring people like Russ Vought and James Sherk for the Office of Management and Budget and White House staff, respectively, and Nathan Mehrens for the Labor Department.

By hiring people who have studied and understand how the current federal civil service system perpetuates the administrative state, Trump set himself up for success when it comes to dealing with the wash, rinse, repeat swamp cycle that the public employee unions perpetuate.

Recently, much of the discussion about public employee unions in politics has been focused upon the upcoming Janus v. AFSCME Supreme Court decision, which could allow public employees at all levels of government to opt out of paying dues as a First Amendment right. But these new executive orders will have a much greater impact on the federal bureaucracy, since federal employees already have the right to not join the union.

This executive order will shift about $100 million in union employee costs back onto the unions. This will force them to prioritize which cases should be fought and which ones should be settled, injecting some rationality and perhaps greater speed into the federal government firing process.

Now, the president needs to take the next step: force the public employee unions to compete for their members through an opt-in process, where the employee would have to actively decide to be a member of the union rather than being assumed to be a member unless he or she fills out the proper paperwork.

If the president takes this next bold step, the public employee union stranglehold on the federal government will be broken, giving Congress a chance to pass full-blown civil service reform.

You can almost hear the swamp draining.

Socialism Verse Capitalism : Ethically and Morally Examined

Good read. Ask any person that believes a socialist state will be more equitable the a market  based system, and why that system of government has never work at any level to produce equality and prosperity, the answer you always get is real socialism has never been implemented properly.

People in the past that have tried it have never completely and totally brought to bear the necessary tools which will guarantee ''all things to all people'' in a manner that is sustainable over the long haul.

People and organizations in the past just haven't been dedicated to the actual ideology, convincing them beyond a doubt that an all powerful government can bring stability and equality to everyone without the use of force.

Again as I have stated here on many other occasions, Marx believed his system , communism, was better then capitalism as his founded agenda of ''Each according to one's needs and From each according to one's abilities'' he said would guarantee prosperity.

And I guess we all know how that worked out every time it has been tried. Why do so many still believe they can change history? 'We just have to try it one more time but this time we'll do it right.'

Why Capitalism Is Morally Superior to Socialism

Exactly where does this occur in a socialist state?

Several recent polls, plus the popularity of Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., demonstrate that young people prefer socialism to free market capitalism.

That, I believe, is a result of their ignorance and indoctrination during their school years, from kindergarten through college. For the most part, neither they nor many of their teachers and professors know what free market capitalism is.

Free market capitalism, wherein there is peaceful voluntary exchange, is morally superior to any other economic system. Why? Let’s start with my initial premise.

All of us own ourselves. I am my private property, and you are yours. Murder, rape, theft, and the initiation of violence are immoral because they violate self-ownership. Similarly, the forcible use of one person to serve the purposes of another person, for any reason, is immoral because it violates self-ownership.

Tragically, two-thirds to three-quarters of the federal budget can be described as Congress taking the rightful earnings of one American to give to another American—using one American to serve another. Such acts include farm subsidies, business bailouts, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, food stamps, welfare, and many other programs.

Free market capitalism is disfavored by many Americans—and threatened—not because of its failure but, ironically, because of its success. Free market capitalism in America has been so successful in eliminating the traditional problems of mankind—such as disease, pestilence, hunger, and gross poverty—that all other human problems appear both unbearable and inexcusable.

The desire by many Americans to eliminate these so-called unbearable and inexcusable problems has led to the call for socialism. That call includes equality of income, sex, and race balance; affordable housing and medical care; orderly markets; and many other socialistic ideas.

Let’s compare capitalism with socialism by answering the following questions: In which areas of our lives do we find the greatest satisfaction, and in which do we find the greatest dissatisfaction?

It turns out that we seldom find people upset with and in conflict with computer and clothing stores, supermarkets, and hardware stores. We do see people highly dissatisfied with and often in conflict with boards of education, motor vehicles departments, police, and city sanitation services.

What are the differences? For one, the motivation for the provision of services of computer and clothing stores, supermarkets, and hardware stores is profit. Also, if you’re dissatisfied with their services, you can instantaneously fire them by taking your business elsewhere.

It’s a different matter with public education, motor vehicles departments, police, and city sanitation services. They are not motivated by profit at all. Plus, if you’re dissatisfied with their service, it is costly and in many cases, even impossible to fire them.

A much larger and totally ignored question has to do with the brutality of socialism. In the 20th century, the one-party socialist states of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, Germany under the National Socialist German Workers’ Party, and the People’s Republic of China were responsible for the murder of 118 million citizens, mostly their own.

The tallies were: USSR, 62 million; Nazi Germany, 21 million; and People’s Republic of China, 35 million. No such record of brutality can be found in countries that tend toward free market capitalism.

Here’s an experiment for you. List countries according to whether they are closer to the free market capitalist or to the socialist/communist end of the economic spectrum. Then rank the countries according to per capita gross domestic product. Finally, rank the countries according to Freedom House’s “Freedom in the World” report.

You will find that people who live in countries closer to the free market capitalist end of the economic spectrum not only have far greater wealth than people who live in countries toward the socialistic/communist end but also enjoy far greater human rights protections.

As Thomas Sowell says, “Socialism sounds great. It has always sounded great. And it will probably always continue to sound great. It is only when you go beyond rhetoric, and start looking at hard facts, that socialism turns out to be a big disappointment, if not a disaster.”

Trump Voters : The People Who Care About America

This is great! Outlining who and what the Trumps are and continue to be. What motivates them and why they will not be turned away.

Trump’s Populist Coalition Reshapes American Politics
The people finding someone to believe in. That actually cares.

Ginny Montalbano / /

Salena Zito and Brad Todd recently co-authored the book “The Great Revolt: Inside the Populist Coalition Reshaping American Politics.” They spoke to The Daily Signal’s Ginny Montalbano about who the Trump voters are, what motivated them during the 2016 election, and what they can tell us about the future.

Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump
“The Great Revolt” by Salena Zito and Brad Todd does much to tell the story of our great Election victory. The Forgotten Men & Women are forgotten no longer!
8:00 AM - May 7, 2018

Ginny Montalbano: Your new book called “The Great Revolt: Inside the Populist Coalition Reshaping American Politics” just came out. Can we start with what inspired you to write this book and what it’s about?

Brad Todd: I didn’t see Trump’s nomination coming in 2016 in the election. I was working for a different candidate. After watching it come about in spite of my expectations and then watching the general election develop, I really was interested to know if the long-term question; was this something that was just starting, was this something that was in the middle, or was this something that was finishing with this reforming of the coalition on the right?

Salena Zito: He and I had numerous conversations that began back in 2006 when we first met, in trying to understand this disruptive force that was starting to build among conservatives. That’s not just Republicans, but independents and Democrats as well.

I saw that this was coming, but mainly because as a reporter I live in Pittsburgh, so I spend my time outside the Beltway. I saw the evidence of this in 2016, really beginning with the April Pennsylvania primary. How Trump just steamrolled through my state and created an enthusiasm that I have never seen among Republican primary voters.

I remember right before the night of the primary election going to the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, which is massive. I went there and there was 25,000 people inside, there’s at least 10,000 to 15,000 outside. I remember thinking, “Wow, this is April in Pennsylvania. Something’s happening here.”

Montalbano: The president has tweeted about your book. He said, “It does much tell the story of our great election victory, the forgotten men and women are forgotten no longer.” What is the disconnect between the actual Trump voters and the Trump voters that a lot of the media tries to portray?

Todd: It’s a pretty optimistic coalition. I think you see a lot of the stories about the Trump voters convince you that they’re all destitute, and laid off factory workers who are strung out on heroin, and convinced that they’re angry with the world.

We found something exactly the opposite. In traveling through the five Rust Belt states that switched from Obama to Trump and conducting a survey of Trump voters in those states, 86 percent of those people actually are optimistic about their own economics situation and their own economic career prospects.

They’re scared to death about their communities, but they’re very optimistic. We think that that sense of optimism and forward-looking nature is a thing that was missed.

Zito: Yeah, absolutely. I think one of the things that people will enjoy about “The Great Revolt” is that there is these seven different archetypes, the most surprising archetypes of the Trump coalition, that emerge and come to life. I think as people read it, more often than not that they’ll see themselves through these stories.

Brad is right about the optimism. “Make America Great Again,” people made fun of it as nostalgic or racist. I’ve even heard dog whistle, which I’m not even sure what that means. To them it was an aspirational about doing something and being part of something that was bigger than themselves.

That’s a very important component, a very uniquely American thing whether you have been in this country for two weeks or for seven to nine generations. It’s something that you find inherent within all American people. I think that the national press missed that and missed that understanding of who these voters are.

Montalbano: You’ve written that Trump was not the cause of this movement, he was the result of it. What exactly are these Trump voters reacting to and what can they tell us about the future?

Todd: Nothing in American politics happens on accident for one time, usually it’s something that builds. When these trends happen, it builds over a period of time and it continues. Trump, it may have taken someone as uniquely outside the political system to fully catalyze the coalition.

Most Trump voters just think both parties are responsible for the dysfunction in Washington, they trust him more than they trust politicians of either party. To some extent, therefore, he definitely was essential in bringing it together, that’s a fair argument.

In the end, this populous coalition, this fusion of populism and conservatism, it’s been coming for a while. We saw it in Republican primaries in 2010, 2012, and 2014. It really almost had to crystallize in the general election at some point and it’s going to continue even after Trump’s off the stage.

Zito: Yeah, absolutely. I think one of things that’s really important to understand is that the influence of this coalition goes well beyond the ballot box. We saw evidence of that on Wednesday, when you saw what the NFL made the decision about what they’re going to do about what happens if you as a player want to make this decision to kneel or not.

To me and Brad, you can tell me if this is wrong, to me, it meant that they cried uncle. That they recognized that in these past two seasons, that they have seen a crumbling of not only their fan base, but also of their brand, a gold standard brand.

Todd: This means that the fans got what they asked for. The league’s original position was that they were going to allow players to kneel, there would be no ramifications for it. The fans spoke, I’m not saying every person in that fan base is politically motivated, but it’s another example of a coastal decision-maker getting it wrong and the customer base responding.

That’s really what it was in the election, both in the Republican primary and the general. Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton represent the last gasp of the legacy brands in politics and the voters broke both of them.

Zito: Brad makes this point all the time, he said, “Look where the NFL’s located, Park Avenue.” They make their decisions based around that sort of life and people that are like them. Brad has said to me several times, “They should be located in Canton, Ohio, where the Hall of Fame is.” They would be more attuned to how their fan base thinks.

Montalbano: What are you hoping that political elites and media take away from the lessons that you’ve learned throughout writing this book?

Todd: This culture craves respect. That I think that treating them and their cultural backgrounds without respect is peril for both sides.

Zito: Absolutely. I think that both political parties have shown these voters, and a lot of voters across the board, very little dignity. They have made it appear as though their opportunities aren’t as important as coastal opportunities are. Again, that’s a problem in the ballot box, it’s a problem outside of the ballot box. Honestly, both parties would learn from “The Great Revolt.”

Montalbano: Thank you both so much.

Zito: Thank you.

Todd: Thanks a bunch.

Progressive democrats Driving California : The People Say Enough! Stop!

The people fighting back against insane democrats.

Interesting stuff when one considers just how far the progressives liberal democrats have taken this once great state to the far left causing huge problems that will not go away any time soon.

So, along with the ''fast train'' costing $billions of dollars more then thought, not a surprise, mandated retirement obligations in the $billions.

Along with many other financial obligations that they can't afford, now they believe issuing more free stuff to the illegals that comprise more then 40% of the state is a winning proposition?

The state is broke. Financially and morally.

These California Rebels Are Working With Trump, Not Against Him

The resistance is growing in California. The Golden State has set itself up as the stridently progressive thorn in the side of the Trump administration. California has not just become a sanctuary state in an attempt to undermine federal immigration enforcement, but has gone a step further.

Recently, California lawmakers proposed giving health care to illegal immigrants, which would make it the first state to do so. The plan would cost state taxpayers billions of dollars.

However, as the state, which is under nearly one-party rule, doubles down on its left-wing drift, there is bubbling discontent among residents who are outraged by California’s increasing lawlessness and wild spending.

The Changes That Made California Become a Left-Wing Fiasco

A growing list of cities and counties have chosen to take action against California’s sanctuary policies intended to undermine federal immigration law. They are resisting the resistance. These localities are taking aim at the California Values Act, which, according to the Orange County Register, states that “local and state law enforcement authorities may not use resources, including personnel or facilities, to investigate or arrest people for federal immigration enforcement purposes.”

The latest city to rebel is Carlsbad, which is close to San Diego in Southern California. The Carlsbad City Council voted 4-1 Monday to join the federal government’s lawsuit against California’s sanctuary state status, according to The San Diego Union-Tribune. “I cannot see the difference between a sanctuary state and a secessionist state,” Glenn Bernard, a retired Marine and former teacher, told the council, according to the Union-Tribune.

The council’s criticism of California’s sanctuary status echoed that of others around the state.

Other cities have taken additional measures to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement.
The Los Alamitos City Council voted to exempt itself from the state sanctuary law, saying the measure is unconstitutional. This prompted a lawsuit by the American Civil Liberties Union. This is the “rebellion” President Donald Trump referred to when he visited California in mid-May.

The media, dishonestly, mischaracterized some of Trump’s comments at the event, insinuating that he called “some” illegal immigrants “animals” when the context shows he was referring to members of the violent MS-13 gang.

Lost in the media storm was the serious and growing discontent over radical, left-wing policies in the deep-blue state. “Each of you has bravely resisted California’s deadly and unconstitutional sanctuary state laws,” Trump said, according to Fox News. “You’ve gone through a lot, too, although it’s become quite popular what you do.”

Cities such as Carlsbad and Los Alamitos use a similar rationale to resist the state as the state does in resisting the federal government. It turns out that although California is verging on one-party rule at the state level, significant dissent to sanctuary policies exists in wide swaths of the state.

The common thread from this growing movement is that the state’s policies are reckless, put the lives of citizens in danger, and promote criminality. “We are not anti-immigrant—there is no one on this council that’s anti-immigrant,” said Hesperia City Councilman Paul Russ, according to the Desert Dispatch. “But for immigrants, we’d like to see it done legally. I can also say without a doubt that we are anti-criminal. It’s not about the immigrants; it’s about the criminals in the community.”

The movement has touched on an important element of the debate about immigration, sovereignty, and what it means to be a citizen.

America has had many differing immigration policies over the years. Sometimes they are restrictive, sometimes they are more liberal, and sometimes we’ve decided to vet immigrants with extreme caution.

Not every immigration policy has been good, but regardless, they ultimately were created by the American people.

The message that sanctuary laws such as California’s send is that Americans have no right, as a nation, to determine who comes into their country. If there is an attack on “democracy,” this surely is it.  Sanctuary policies erode the concept that the people rule, and that both duties and rights come with citizenship, and they damage the concept that America is about upholding the rule of law.

As The Heritage Foundation’s David Azerrad wrote: ''People set up governments to ensure ‘their Safety and Happiness’ and provide ‘for their future security.’ Immigration policy, like all other policy, should therefore serve the interests and well-being of the American people. One should not confuse the universal duty not to infringe upon the rights of man with the duty of each government to secure the rights of its people only.''

In other words, Americans may choose whom we let in and whom we don’t, for good or ill.

California’s leaders may be enthusiastically pursuing a fight over immigration law with the federal government, but they will face a growing wave of discontent from citizens who are sick of lawmakers in the state capital fueling lawlessness and ignoring their concerns.

Socialism Drives democrats To Destruction

democrats believe the god of government is all things to all people.

They are not the party of your dad - they are progressive  socialist liberal democrats, which explains everything.

If we want to live in a civil society of people that are free to make decisions that effect your well being and your future without a government bureaucrat interfering and make those decisions for you, do not vote for a democrat.

It appears many are campaigning on Conservative values, but don't be fooled, they are still progressive liberal democrats and will vote the socialist party line every time.

It's in their DNA. It's who the are and always have been. It's just now that they are running scared now that the people actually have decided it really is time for a change in leadership. They made that clear enough even for hard core democrats November 2016.

Hillary Right to Power and Control : Respect Denied

As she continues  to demonstrate her weakening mental abilities to grip reality, we and the entire world watches the destruction. Apparently money wasn't enough for Hillary, it was really all about the power and control that she believes is rightfully hers.

Where this ends is anyone guess. And that there are so many that still pander to her is puzzling. But, in th4e end, I believe it can not end well.

Hillary has no where to go except further delusion.

Man Awakens After Heart Surgery : Catholic Hospital Wants Payment(Humor)

Take a break from the celebrations and laugh right out loud! This is a good one!

Catholic Hospital Bill

A man suffered a heart attack while shopping in a store. The store manager called 911 when they saw him collapse to the floor. The paramedics rushed the man to the nearest hospital where he had emergency open heart bypass surgery.

He awakened from the surgery to find himself in the care of nuns at the Catholic Hospital. A nun was seated next to his bed holding a clipboard loaded with several forms, and a pen. She asked him how he was going to pay for his treatment.

"Do you have health insurance?" she asked. He replied in a weak raspy voice, "No health insurance."

The nun asked, "Do you have money in the bank?'' He replied, "No money in the bank.”

Do you have a relative who could help you with the payments?" asked the irritated
nun. He said, "I only have a spinster sister, and she is a nun."

The nun became agitated and announced, "Nuns are not spinsters! Nuns are married to God."

The patient replied, "Perfect. Send the bill to my brother-in-law."

Thank God And Our Military : America Is Alive And Well!

God bless those that have sacrificed their lives for the rest of us.
AsAs the saying goes 'there is no free lunch' ever! And freedom is no different - someone has to pay the price.

On this very important day and all other day of the year, we must understand what those among us that made the ultimate sacrifice to save out way of life that so aptly exemplified by Ronald Reagan's ''Shining City on the Hill''.

It is America, where individual freedom and liberty to pursue what ever you are capable of doing and achieving is realized.

Take a minute each day and thank God for out great country and those that have served and are serving in our military of volunteers. It has taken tremendous courage and bravery to make the decision to take a stand for freedom that will include a threat to one personal safety.

What better way to say thank you then each day say a prayer to those that have shown the way to peace and security for the rest of us that are living the good life here at home.

Common Sense Responsibility : Principled Life Has Meaning - Nothing Is Free

The moral decay that we are witnessing everyday in the media reports and in the media itself, reveals a civil society that is struggling to find solid ground that it once proudly held. It lost that high ground when too many that live and work in the trench's of reality have become unaware of how society itself has drifted into a dark place led by the ''new wave'' world of progressivism.

Luckily, this shift into this malignant  discerption of real life is being pushed back  by people that have decided to finally take a stand on principle, like they did in November of 2106. Luckily as well those same people are still here and making a difference. Enough of the 'take the money and run' mentality. Everyone must be responsible, take a stand on common sense and decency. Without it our civil society will decline and then evaporate.

There’s No Such Thing as ‘Free Love’

At the Museum of the Bible, we recently hosted a live town hall on youth and morality. What is missing from the continuous discussion surrounding youth and violence, suicide, disrespect of parenting, drug addiction, etc., is a discussion about youth and moral striving.

We were joined by a thought-provoking panel that included Charlie Kirk, Shelby Emmett, Candace Owens, and Shermichael Singleton.

The general consensus following the debate was that our young adults felt the discussion was long overdue. They are more prepared than ever to discuss the importance of moral striving and continuous character building in America’s youth.

I often wonder: What does it mean to live a life of purpose and meaning? As I reflect on the experiences that I have had in life, a few recurring themes seem to emerge.

For me, living on purpose has meant creating a wealthy life. I am referring to all aspects of wealth, be it material wealth, enjoying and emoting good physical and mental health, and striving to make a positive difference in the lives of others. With the many options and paths one could possibly take, how does one stay on the path toward one’s purpose?

The way forward for me has involved constant introspection, observation, and work. I’m not referring to working on my career or business, although that is certainly a part of it. I’m talking about the meta-work that one does even before showing up to the office on a daily basis. That work is the self-sacrifice, working toward strengthening character, and avoiding the pitfalls of temptation and lust. It is the work of self-abnegation and prudence, the daily sacrifices made in service of a higher ideal.

This is the work that ultimately grants us the freedom and true fulfillment that we are seeking. Those things that seem attractive to us in the short term: sleeping in just another hour, giving into the temptation to over-consume food, or to have gratuitous sex for immediate gratification, do not provide long-term happiness.

No, true joy does not arise from the vulgar applause of adoring crowds or from the creature comforts of mediocrity. True joy arises from the fruits of years of labor that has been diligently and consistently applied. The deep joy of working toward a goal and seeing it come to fruition over time is what life can be all about.

This process of spiritual striving and consistent action toward goals—while avoiding immediate, pleasure-seeking behaviors—is the most advanced form of spiritual technology that I have found. It is far more powerful than the magic of compound interest as a builder of wealth because it aligns with the creative forces of the universe.

The most effective way to achieve long-term success in any endeavor, whether it be health, business, or life in general, is to align one’s personal goals with the interests of the whole. Sex is a great case in point. Sex can be both pleasurable to the individual, and, if properly aligned with the purpose of procreation, can also serve the whole.

As human beings, we have been blessed with both the power of intelligence and the gift of choice. This has enabled us to create tools that give us dominion over the earth and other creatures. But if not used properly, they can also lead to our mutual destruction.

We have seen this story repeat itself over and over again, from the Tower of Babel to the mistaken assumption that prompts some to choose abortions over the sanctity of life.

The so-called sexual revolution was brought to us by the technology that enabled us to seemingly forestall the results of sex thorough birth control, or to erase the responsibility created by sex through the abomination of abortion. It supposedly freed women to seek professional careers and cheapened the transaction cost of casual relationships. It freed men to opt out of family formation while doing their own thing.

So-called free love is never, in fact, free. The true cost of love and intimacy is commitment and faithfulness. These are enduring principles, unchanged by any artifice man can possibly engineer.

The truth is, no such bargain could ever be struck. In reality, pleasure-seeking behaviors, like sex outside of the bonds of marriage and abortion, work to thwart the creative process. These behaviors create the mentality that one should have sex without being spiritually, emotionally, and economically prepared to manage the creative force that sex invites and often demands.

Our success here on earth comes from using the creative power of God to manifest iterative creations with the gifts of intelligence and artistry. We tend to pollute this connection when we diverge from pursuing our God-given purpose.

Only when we align pleasure with purpose can we achieve true joy. Self-discipline and living in accord with the laws of God is the only path to freedom in this life and in the next. This is the most powerful spiritual technology known to man.
