Elections Have Consequences : State Secession Possible

This is a discussion from a concerned citizen on the East coast concerning the rape of the United States Constitution and, as a result, the American people.

The anger, frustration and fear that Obama has brought to our country is growing steadily.

*Elections Have Consequences!*

For many Americans, myself included, the idea of secession from the U.S. continues to be unthinkable! However, the issue of the secession of an American State from the Union, has been irrevocably raised, and is unlikely to go away unless the conditions that caused its consideration are changed. The advantages, economic, political and practical, that are inherent to a united, Federalist Republic such as the United States of America has been in the past, are too numerous to be cast aside without serious consideration. The fact that the idea of secession has been raised by serious state leaders ought to be a large red warning flag for the Obama Administration, that it has seriously over-stepped the boundaries established by the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights. The attached discussion of “Secession is in Our Future” by Clifford F. Thies, and posted in the Mises Daily on April 28, 2009 is an interesting and serious discussion of the historical precedents relating to secession; it is _not_ a call for the unthinkable.

On the other hand, until the political actions that resurrected the idea of secession are openly addressed, the issue will not go away. For many Americans the Obama Administration’s lack of fiscal responsibility, over-weaning arrogance, and contempt for the concepts of honesty and transparency in government has brought anger and despair. The idea of a 16 Trillion dollar IOU to our creditors, with debt piled upon debt as far as the eye can see, has caused many to doubt that the fundamental Governing Compact represented by the US Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and Bill of Rights can survive.

The Obama Administration’s on-going efforts to nullify the U.S. Constitution, and Bill of Rights, and to forcibly change the United States of America from a Federalist Republic into a centralized, socialist, entity has stirred up growing anger and opposition. When oppressive pieces of legislation, are forced down the throats of the American people with no discussion, no understanding of what they contain, and no idea of how they will be paid for, it is time for a serious assessment of the future of our country.

The Obama approach to governing used to be associated with unsavory totalitarian dictatorships, but has now become the favored method of the American Government! The US Constitution and Bill of Rights represent a Governing Compact between the people of the United States and their government, and its acceptance rests upon the informed consent of the governed. The passage of legislation that instigates fundamental and far-reaching changes in our government and our society, without the informed consent of the American people, has broken that Compact!**Once the Governing Compact has been sundered, the governed have no moral obligation to respect, or continue to support, conditions imposed upon them by legislation that broke the Compact. Thoughts and actions that were “unthinkable” while the Compact was intact, now gain credibility and force; everything is now “On The Table.”

All Americans should therefore resolve to repudiate destructive obligations placed upon them through political chicanery. Legislation forced upon the American people, without an opportunity to review or give informed consent, does not command the continued support of citizens. Every political party must understand that radical acts of political deception, can be, and will be, nullified. Legislation passed in violation of the Governing Compact, will be subject to repudiation and reversal. Either we defend our fundamental rights under the U.S. Constitution or we lose them!
