Why would the Republicans want to find common ground with the opposition when the democrats had power they kicked the Republicans to the curb? Remember Mr Obama saying "elections have consequences"?
Unfortunate this sounds like just more of the same insanity that has followed Republicans their entre history. No guts no glory.
I hope I'm wrong and these two leaders are only making nice for the press. But maybe they are really intending to do something that will actually work to save our country from the disaster that has driven us into the domestic and foreign world dumpster.

114th Congress. The new 114th Congress will convene on January 3, 2015. John Boehner and Mitch McConnell have already signaled that they will immediately begin focusing on jobs and the economy. The Speaker of the House and the presumed Senate Majority Leader coauthored a piece in the Wall Street Journal, titled “Now We Can Get Congress Going.” They outline a pro-growth agenda for the 114th Congress. The leaders are promising to cooperate with Democrats, looking for common ground on issues like corporate tax reform and trade agreements. But they will certainly test each other on controversial issues like Obamacare and the Keystone pipeline. For now, the President seems defiant, reiterating his intention to take executive action on immigration. For now, the President is meeting with Congressional leaders today at the White House. We will see where they go from there
