The trend over the last several decades is for the Republicans to have a strategy of ''reaching across the aisle'' for compromise on all issues. It's just the right thing to do among ladies and gentlemen.
Oh, and of course, a lot of hand wringing and hiding under their collective desks in Washington when the media comes calling for them to explain what they believe is ''truth'' even when the democraaats are providing all the evidence needed to help them stand their ground.
