A Primal Connection? : Humans and Dogs

One has to wonder what is the connection that we have with our animals, especially our dogs. Is this primal? I have made the statement about our connection to dogs in the past here, but it seems every day that goes by it becomes more clear we do have, on some level, a connection.

We have 4 Golden Retrievers and have had many of them for the last twenty years, and find it never fails for us to keep wondering just what is it that draws us to them and visa versa.
