It's easy to understand how things can and do get screwed up. It's as always, a communication problem. Whomever is developing and then writing the script think they know who you are but in reality, they are mostly looking in the mirror when deciding what's true and what is hyperbole about your personality and life's history.
I wonder who these people are and how they know so much about me. More than a little unnerving.
Maybe our lives are just open books that are easy to read? Down in the trenches it's hard to hide.
