Interesting how Calvin can equate what he believes is true as against what is reality. His poster isn't as good as Suzie's in the minds of the judges, but Calvin wants to have those in charge of the contest to change the rules so he can win.
In the mind of child, it's all about brute force to accomplish an end that is satisfactory to his perceived outcome where he is the winner, his is better than all others even though his contribution to the contest is not.
And of course, the parallel is obvious in today's politics. One side's contusions to the contrast are flawed while the other is obviously, by all measures from all sides, seen as superior but can't and won't be recognized by the opposition as legitimate!
No matter what reality is, it make no difference to the opposition to and for those that are losers! |
