The Connection : Humans & Animals Is Primal?

What exactly is the connection between the human animal and the animals that are lower on the food chain? Is this Primal? Even from the very beginning we seem to know something that makes us all relative.

Reaching? Perhaps but too many times we find ourselves looking fondly on our four legged associates with a sense of communication that isn't verbalized.

If you have been around animals for any length of time, at certain times of quit contemplation, it seems there is something beautiful happening on a sub-conscience level. It isn't something that can be called up, it just happens for no consciences reason.

Why would such a small child find comfort in holding this cat, and why the cat finds no reason for fear of being restricted?

Children and adults cling to their animals, in some respect more tightly then they do to the own children or their parents.
