I don't know who wrote this but it truly is what I believe is what and who we are. We are a Christian nation, dedicated to freedom and justice for all, and I pray that there are still enough of us left in America to make sure we remain so.
On this day it is so important to remember how we got here and how lucky and privileged we are to be living in the greatest country that the world has ever known.
Our Constitution, as Reagan so profoundly stated is the strength that powers the 'shining city on the hill' that attracts millions to our shores yearning for the most basic freedoms that the human condition demands, personal freedom to chose and the guaranteed right to liberty and justice, no matter who you are.
If we forget what our forefathers did so many years ago, and the sacrifices that they endured to begin the journey of freedom that we all now take for granted, and given the domestic and foreign troubles that plaques us causing our freedom maybe hanging by a thread, then we have lost our chance to remain free.
If we refuse to recognize these signs of corruption in our country, we will always look back on this day when we decided to ignore the signs of complacency and ignorance of what we have so dearly paid for over the last 240 years.
So relax your thumbs for just a few minutes. and reflect on just how beautiful our country is and what we will lose if we fall asleep at the wheel. It's up to us and the next generations that have the responsibility to ensure our country remains free and prosperous like the millions that came before us that gave so much. Failure to do our duty to God, family and country is not an option.
God bless this country that has given us everything. Remember, 'freedom means having nothing else to lose'.
I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG, OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA , AND TO THE REPUBLIC, FOR WHICH IT STANDS, ONE NATION UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL!
For all of our other military personnel, where ever they may be. Please Support all of the troops defending our Country. And God Bless our Military who are protecting our Country for our Freedom. Thanks to them, and their sacrifices, we can celebrate the 4th of July.
We must never forget who gets the credit for the freedoms we have, of which we should be eternally grateful. I watched the flag pass by one day. It fluttered in the breeze. A young Marine saluted it, And then he stood at ease. I looked at him in uniform; so young, so tall, so proud. With hair cut square and eyes alert, he'd stand out in any crowd.
I thought how many men like him had fallen through the years. How many died on foreign soil; how many mothers' tears? How many pilots' planes shot down? How many died at sea?
How many foxholes were soldiers' graves?
NO, FREEDOM ISN'T FREE !
I heard the sound of Taps one night, when everything was still. I listened to the bugler play And felt a sudden chill. I wondered just how many times that Taps had meant 'Amen.' When a flag had draped a coffin of a brother or a friend.
I thought of all the children, of the mothers and the wives, of fathers, sons and husbands with interrupted lives. I thought about a graveyard at the bottom of the sea. Of unmarked graves in Arlington .
NO FREEDOM ISN'T FREE
Enjoy Your Freedom and God Bless Our Troops. When you receive this, please stop for a moment and say a prayer for our servicemen. Of all the gifts you could give a U.S. Soldier, prayer is the very best one.
God Bless all and God bless America!
