If you don 't understand the message but assume then that it's harmful to your position in the larger society, the message must be refuted and denied and shown as false and not comprehensively good for the well being of the people.
And if the message can't be refuted as false, and if the people believe what they see and hear to be the true path to a better life, then those whose positions of power are impacted the most with a message of truth and salvation, will decide to destroy the messenger as a solution to maintain the statue quo!!!
Do you see the connection of how this works across time and even for immortality?
