There was a time when that question would be seen an unconstitutional. The right to privacy is important and a person's identify should have some protections.
But given the attacks by Marxist liberated democrxaaats on anything in America that represents the freedom to chose, it makes good sense that the Marxists would demand your personal identification be ignored as the 20 million illegal immigrates that came into our country over a totally open border the democrxxxts opened for 4 years.
It called a ''replacement theory'' operation where democrxxxts know their base is becoming aware of just how far left they have become and no longer vote in lockstep in big enough numbers to ensure their election chances are better than just good.
So the democrxxxts need to replace them with other ignorant mindless people with noting else to do but take the free handouts and then vote democrxxxt when told to do so. But wait, they can't vote as they aren't citizens, right?
Wrong!! They are now good democrxxxts and therefore above the law! Hey, the democrxxxts want them for the census count as well, so the can use them for redistricting.
