The Marxist liberated democraaats promised the faithful that if they were elected to one more term, 2024, the world as we know it would then be permanently set in stone. Life would be good!
A centralized all-powerful authority that will make all decisions for the people on health care, education, unrepentant crime that lurks everywhere or the rule of law, leaving them to enjoy their personal lives as they wish without the stress of having to decide if they want to live the good life responsible free behind closed doors or die a horrible death in a labor camp for disobedience!

To as the country though would require the people to make significant changes to the political lives before the big hand of an all-powerful government gets their collective hands around their neck one last time and then never letting go!
