The leadership is totally infatuated with their power over others. Eventually socialism isn't enough, of course, so they want to have total power over all outcomes and by any mans necessary.
And what's the fastest way to do that as socialist turn to the communist ideology where the population is totally enslaved to the will of leadership, communist dictators, and the people know there are no other options!
Threat of violence and death though has always worked well for the communist ideology over the many decades it has been used on the working population for control.
Obedience, poverty and death are the only options communist know and understand.
