I wonder why Detroit and Baltimore are so dysfunctional? Did you ever wonder why New Orleans was such a disaster when Katrina hit when they had several days to prepare?Remember George W Bush called the governor of Louisiana, Blanco, a democrat, 72 hours ahead of the storm and several other times, offering the help of the federal government but the governor told him to actually butt out, they didn't want the help at this time?
It's too easy to explain - the democrats that have controlled that city saw this hurricane as urban renewal at some one else's expense, and a great opportunity to stuff their private bank accounts with taxpayer dollars at the same time. That lives would be lost was of no concern, especially when so much could be accomplished in the aftermath of a disaster.
More money and more power to control.
This is not rocket science, this has always been the MO (modus operandi) of he democrats. In those famous words of Rohm Emanuel, chief of staff for Mr Obama, 'never let a crisis go to waste'. "We can never get things done like we can during a crisis."
