H.L. Menchen Predicted Mr Obama : Baltimore Sun - 1920

As much as we want to ignore history it has a terrible habit of always coming back to haunt us, especially when we least want it to resurface. predicted

 

The voting public makes sure we have this disaster over and over again in that when our economic problems have gone away, and the media has demonized those that have taken the necessary steps to fix our problems as trouble makers, voters turn on those that did the heavy lifting and except the demonizes back into power starting the nightmare all over again.

 

 

Mencken wrote the editorial below while working for the Baltimore Evening Sun, which appeared in the July 26,1920 edition.
