What a great video! But why is that in many instances success seems to never result in future voters understanding how they obtained that success? And it's not just at the state level, this happens as wll at the federal level as well.
It's a regrettable situation it seems, that when a Republican or Conservative government official succeeds in turning a bad situation into a success, the voters enviably turn away and vote for a democrat which assures the process of destruction and policy failures begin all over again.
Am I seeing the glass half full or half empty? Maybe.
What this Maine governor did is remarkable. Still, only time will tell if he can solidify his accomplishments into future successes. But sadly, if history is any witness, he will probably be voted out. It never seem to fail.
Maine’s Successful Welfare Reform and Why It Worked

States are often the best laboratories for testing out what public policies will make life better for their citizens. Maine’s experiment with welfare reform is a great example. When Gov. Paul LePage, only the second Republican governor of Maine in the past 50 years, came into office, one in three people living in the state was on some form of welfare.
LePage talked with me about how they turned the system on its head and how those reforms have made the American dream a reality for more of Maine’s citizens.
