It really is about the rule of law as stated in our Constitution. If we want to have a civil society that is legitimate and workable like it has been the for the last 240 plus years, then it seems like common sense that we preserve it. Remember many thousands of people gave their last full measure believed America as founded was worth the sacrifice.
